Until or if we get a patch to fix the game crashing on restart, there's a couple options to resolve this.

1) Don't sign in with an Xbox account.

-or-

2) If you've signed in with an Xbox account, go to AppData>Local>Coalition>WarGame>SaveData>RandomNumberFolder. Delete the file "XBL.ue3pls". You have to do this every time before starting the game and signing back into your Xbox account.

Back 4 Blood might have some new mechanics and a light RPG system, but Back 2 Left 4 Theft Auto 2: Cheeseburger Apocalypse Edition has a vast modding scene that offers endless fun.

Make no mistake, this game was a complete trashheap at launch. Todd Howard served up a crapton of lies to sell it. Seriously, this guy is reputable as a professional liar at this point.

All that being said however, as of the current state of this game, I'd say it's now better than Fallout 4, and I'd go so far as to place it right below New Vegas as my second-favorite entry in the series.
