Bastion is a really beautiful game and definetly not your average game.
The art is really beautiful and the story gets told in a special way that I didn't encounter like that in any game I've played until now. Paired with the good voice acting, the really beautiful soundtrack and the already mentioned art it makes Bastion a beautiful, heart-wrenching story.
But of course a good story is nothing without some good gameplay. And Bastion really nails it. There are many weapons, skills and spirits to try and combine so you can play in your own favored playstyle. Even the weapons themself can get upgraded they way the player likes. There are also secret spots filled with fragments, Health Tonics and/or Black Tonics that are fun to find. Same goes for the pets that are kept in the Bastion once they are found.
The levels themselves are well designed and beautiful drawn, they don't look like each other and don't play like each other and contain different enemies supposed to fit the current level, or rather island. Playing through those islands was really fun and the balance is not too hard but also not too easy. There are also the training grounds which add, combined with the memorial, several challenges for the kid/player. Well there are also the steam achievements which are also a challenge itself.

The only thing I'm sad about is that I wish there was a sequel to Bastion because I really fell in love with this game.
So I strongly recommend this game to anyone who didn't buy and play it yet. It's definetly worth it.
