Capcom managed to capitalize on the series' revival with Biohazard, and made it bigger, better and creepier.
Welcome to the Village, which is this time around set somewhere in Romania, my homeland, and to be fair, it was represented incredibly! The village is re-created to the detail: the houses, the pots, the carpets, every single aspect of the homesteads of remote villages. It also gets recipe representation through Duke's shop, recipes that give you pretty important benefits throughout the story.
The village is the center of the map, from which you can visit a castle, fishing huts and a really big underground factory.
The story takes the Winters family through another struggle, because of the events in Louisiana. They tried hiding out in Romania, but because of Mother Miranda, a scientist set around the area, that wants to resurrect her long-dead daughter, tries to steal the Winters daughter, and Ethan has none of it. The virus that Miranda brought upon the village is of a local origin, not being related to the one found in the US.
The gameplay and exploration is what you'd expect from a Resident Evil game: treasures, looting every house, completing puzzles, destroy hidden items, and having the merchant(this time, someone called "The Duke"), as one of the few friendly faces you meet throughout the story.
Of the villains, of course the ones who stand out the most are Lady Dimitrescu and Heisenberg: Lady Dimitrescu is a tall vampire lady, with her three vampire daughters, residing in the castle with the same name, in my opinion the best location of the game. And Heisenberg is the one that created the underground undead soldier factory, with an army that could have taken over if it wasn't for Chris and Ethan. The two villains being voiced by two future award-winning voice actors.
Village, alongside RE4 are in my opinion the two most memorable entries in the Resident Evil franchise. Because both take their predecessors and make everything 10 times better!

This game.. was one of the most unique experiences I've had so far while playing.
The story of the game revolves around the world of the dead colliding with the one of the living, triggering a Death Stranding. A world where a person dying is one of the biggest risks: after death, if the body necrotizes, they turn into a BT, and too many BT's in one location cause a voidout, a big explosion that wipes an astonishing portion of the earth where it triggers, leaving a crater of tar.
You play as Sam, a "porter", the backbone of society, the couriers that go through the wasteland and through the rapidly-aging rain called Timefall. So basically the game feels like a FedEx simulator, delivering packages to settlements all over the map.
There are two main dangers along the way: BT's and human enemies. BT's are self explainatory, while the human enemies are of two types: MULE's and terrorists. While MULE's have an unhealthy obsession for stealing packages, their tactics are non-lethal, whereas the terrorists are just hell-bent on wreaking havoc wherever they set camp.
Progressing through the story, you get different kinds of weapons to fight back both BT's and humans. But beware! To avoid "contributing" to the already bad situation, and creating more BT's by killing other humans, against them, non-lethal tactics are usually the way to go, either with non-lethal ammunition weapons, or the BOLA gun, a really fun weapon that shoots a lasso that ties your enemy up, leaving you to only give it a kick to stun him and prevent him from waking up for a while.
Because you are human, if you get a hefty load, you can't carry it all on your back, and with that, you get to unlock different means of help: carriers, bikes and trucks. the 2nd portion of the map also has distributed spots where you can rebuild a highway, which is a game changer because of the dangerous terrain, which makes it impossible to travel with a vehicle.
The story builds up good around the 2nd part of the game, on the 2nd part of the map, that is huge, and three of my favorite moments were the storms that transport you to a combat veteran's "Beach"(a land where the dead dwell), which cover three significant events: World War I. World war II and the war in Vietnam, where you can roam around and are the most action packed portions of the game, while BT and human encounters can easily be avoided if you manage to detour their areas.
So, one of the biggest disclaimers I can make is: The first few hours are the toughest ones to go through, where you literally have to walk from place to place. Once you start to get your first bike, first equipments and start rebuilding the roads.. the game will feel way more fun!
So I really recommend this game if you have the time, and your attention span can handle a different kind of pace in a game.

This game is.. over the top in every sense possible
The humor is incredibly goofy
The gameplay is really fun and entertaining, leaning into the arcade style with some old platformer references. The combos are simple to understand, making this game really accessible to even newer players, difficulty being moderate, towards easy(aside a few sections where you need the combo mastery to move fast, being time-constrained)
Inspiration of each boss fight coming from a music genre is really creative
The zombies being undead but still saying stuff that their mind was left with has its own humor(and in my opinion, the inspiration for the ghoulies in Netflix's Daybreak)
All in all, the japanese developers realised the freedom of being a gamedev, but also, with the help of JAMES GUNN, they created a really fun experience. Highly recommend!

I barely have words to describe the feelings this game gave me: joy, anger, grief, thrill, satisfaction.. the complete package.
I highly recommend this masterpiece!

Yet another game where I wish there was a middle ground in the Steam reviews.
As a game, it is pretty interesting: You're traveling across the malaria-infested jungle (being sick yourself), where every person that has a weapon is the law. The map is packed with armed checkpoints that shoot anyone on sight, weapon dealers, and secluded safehouses, protected from the main roads where turret vehicles patrol around to "keep order".
Doing missions, you get paid in rough diamonds (which you can also find in hidden briefcases around the map), with which you can buy equipment at the dealers.
Weapons need to be changed regularly, as they slowly degrade and get prone to jam mid-combat, which can be a difference maker to have a functional weapon in an encounter.
The only trouble is that enemies respawn incredibly quick after clearing a guard post, and the frequency with which car patrols pass by is getting annoying, because a vehicle is the only way to travel around the huge map, and if you get shot by a turret, your car gets busted fast and you then need to engage with the enemy, repair your car and continue: wash, rinse, repeat
The story tho? You are sent to Africa to kill one guy, then work for multiple guys that order you around to kill each other just because every other guy pays more. And when you get face to face with the guy you are SUPPOSED TO KILL, you work together and then... each of you two unalives himself.. WHAT THE F? Reuben the journalist was the only sane character in the entire game.
All in all, to experience the anarchy of a failed state, the poverty where every rule is made at gun point and the misery of the poor people that take any help they can get against the sickness and to try to get out of the country, it is an interesting game to play. Recommend at a sale!

A Max Payne-kind of game, that brings you to the South America, a few years before Max Payne's journey takes him to Brazil.
The protagonist definitely doesn't have the charm that Max has, and feels like his lungs have two cigarettes left of their lifespan.
The gameplay itself is pretty nice for its time, did not age too terribly.
What is annoying tho, are some of the "boss fights". It is an interesting concept to mark a special enemy and give him a health bar, but some of them are bullet sponges, and if they also rush towards you? its game over
Still, a short but pretty entertaining(gameplay-wise) journey. Worth picking up at a sale

A worthy 2nd part of the Reboot franchise, where Lara is caught in a war between Trinity and the village protectors, trying to find an ancient city buried in ice.
The mythology this game bases its story on is the orthodox religion, with byzantine elements, and also portrays the surroundings through different times during two big occupations: the mongolian invasion and the Soviet era camps and gulags.
The sequel expands upon the exploration of every area, offering many challenges, relics and documents to collect, and also a few firsts: side-missions and a shop.
The traversal can sometimes be a little bit annoying because some of it is really heavily scripted. You need to do some parts precisely how the game wants you to.
Using different mechanics with the same button is a good controlling efficiency, but sometimes it needs refining(mostly talking about swan dives challenge, which also are put in such positions that you have to backtrack a pretty long way to the ramp to try them again)
Nevertheless, the game rewards exploration and looting, having a good weapon and all the skills you can get from both leveling up and finding the tomb secrets can make a real difference towards the endgame.
Overall, in my opinion the peak of the trilogy, highly recommend!

A short and entertaining campaign with fun shooting and decent environment.
The game takes a parody view towards wars, but still is better than the last few Call of Duty campaigns xD
The stationary shooting sequences may sometimes feel frustrating because of how the hitboxes are built, but its a good concept nonetheless.
A game worth trying out!

This was one of the best atmospheric games I've ever played. I do not usually play full stealth games, but this one was such a satisfying experience, especially when you manage to find a way to complete a mission without being spotted and without shedding blood.
The setting of the game is.. amazing, what looks to be a british inspired city in an alternative 1800's style, having the clear discrepancies between the high administrative buildings, important people's luxurious homes and the misery of the plague ridden slums, where big machines patrol just to eradicate the sick, instead of eradicating the sickNESS.
Your actions also determine how the city will look like, and what kind of "mentor" you are towards Emily, either a pacifying one, helping her and everyone and leading to a prosperous reign, or killing everything in your path and bringing the city down into more chaos..
The traversal is superb, and the blink is one of the greatest mechanics in a stealth video-game. You're not invisible, but the blink gives you just the right advantage to climb up a ledge to a secluded dark corner, where the shadows do their part.
Overall, a truly memorable title of the last decade, which also grants replayability due to the many ways you could complete each mission. Highly recommend!

Early Access Review
I would describe the game like this: Worse than Hades, a liiittle better than Hades II.
The inspiration of the game is clear, but it is way more casual, in the sense that it is:
-More forgiving: a lot more HP, less taxing mistakes
-Some pretty OP builds, which decimate the enemies within seconds
The music is less poignant than in Hades, so you may find yourself booting up YT music or Spotify in the background to have something pumpy for the fights here.
The art style though, is great, the enemy and boss designs feel really well done, and this time around, you dont only switch the "weapon", you have skins, each with their own playstyle.
The pet you have alongside you is ADORABLE, and changes form depending on which Ink Gems(power-ups) you have equipped.
The inspiration is the Chinese culture: from mythical creatures to also recipes, having a health-restoring foodshop.
Overall, this is a more chill and casual experience of a rogue-like, but also having quite some eye candies for who enjoys them, still having a fluid gameplay, but excelling in art-style!
