I did not buy this game until the 1.0 release. That was a mistake because I could have been dedicating my life to the factory before then.

Before purchase, I was never really drawn in to it. But this a rare game that actually has a demo so you can test it out. You're doing the demo while you're reading this review, right?

I've played strategy games for 20 years, especially 4X: explore, expand, exploit, exterminate. But I continuously find that I don't think on a large enough perspective to play Factorio properly. Yes, you will solve self inflicted speed bumps as you play but in order for the factory to grow, your brain must grow. 4X your brain. Well, 3X because exterminating your brain has negative consequences.
