For a game full of bugs, I couldn't possibly recommend it more. Yes, it is difficult, but overcoming that difficulty is so satisfying. Fans of the OG Hollow Knight simply must play this. Highly recommend pursuing the harder Act 3 route in totality for the "secret" ending.

Something to set as a background program while doing other things, to return to once in a while. There is no achievement for obtaining every upgrade which I thought was strange because the incentive to play dwindles drastically after getting every achievement (which will be a few hours before collecting all upgrades). Anyway, overall I would say it's a good game to venture into. Once you learn the system, it becomes a bit mindless, but not in a bad way.
