You know how people often talk about comfort food. Well the Spicy Tostada is that, too. But it is also what we like to call “confidence food.” And we could all learn a little something from the Spicy Tostada.

Most meals try to keep everything hidden behind a thin layer of tortilla or corn shell. You’d think they’re trying to hide something. They like being on the mysterious side of things. With mystery comes desire. People still like ordering these mysterious items for the thrill of, you guessed it, the mystery (even though they totally already know what is wrapped in that warm tortilla because they’ve been reading all these awesome descriptions). Like people, these items wear a mask to keep everyone from seeing what’s truly on the inside. Okay, they may not be all that mysterious, they’re just not as confident as the Spicy Tostada. The Spicy Tostada, on the other hand, has no insecurity about sharing its true inner self. It doesn’t care if you see its refried beans, real cheddar cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. It doesn’t mind if you think its red sauce is maybe too red, or not red enough. Or if its creamy chipotle sauce may be a little hard to pronounce. The Spicy Tostada does not care. Sticks and stones, people. That’s the motto. Sticks and stones may break its shell, but words will never hurt it. See, the Spicy Tostada chooses to be open-faced. It wears its ingredients on its shell because it’s got nothing to hide. It’s confident. Now if only we all could have a little bit of Spicy Tostada’s carefree confidence and attitude, the world would be a better place. Could you imagine…?
