Trying my best to avoid spoilers.

This game just keeps giving me "wtf" moments.

I'm not quite sure how this game got made in the modern gaming landscape, but I'm glad it did. This is an incredible puzzle game buried under a Betrayal at the House on the Hill inspired "rogue-like" shell. That tile-drafting system is a lot of what you'll be doing in this game, but its far from the core puzzles of the game.

After a certain point, Blue Prince opens up and I kept constantly having more puzzles to solve. Each run either inched me towards solving a known mystery or introduced a new one in a really satisfying way.

However, the start of this game is slow. I see a lot of reviews here wondering why people are comparing this game to "Obra Dinn" or "Outer Wilds", and I can understand why. Based on the way this game presents itself, its very possible for different players to have vastly different experiences playing this game.

Taking all of that in to account, you might not enjoy this game if you don't like that progress will be non-linear and sometimes slow, but in my experience the puzzles and the worldbuilding payoffs are completely worth it.

While I have enjoyed the game, its hard to recommend. I have been having constant performance issues in this game unlike anything I experience in games that are much more taxing on my hardware. Basically any time anything new is loaded the game stutters, and that happens a lot (time changes, new dialogue starts, even switching tabs in the menu).

The core of the game is quite enjoyable to me. There are some rough patches, it feels like sometimes you can get pretty unlucky when it comes to advancing the story, and some audience requirements are super annoying. You will see repeated dialogue, but I don't know if that's as much of a problem as people are making it out to be given the story the game is trying to tell.

I think without the performance issues I've been running into I'd recommend the game, but do know the gameplay loop is repetitive and the objectives of the game will take you away from just filming a reality tv show.
