Every exploration, every step forward here requires 110% of you - with each area being filled with an abundance of traps and persistent enemies with the moveset of the Hollow Knight, which, of course, respawn on room transition. There is no time to be immersed in the world - for it must constantly distract you and sweat you out in battle. Thus, it does not appeal to anyone but a niche competitive community.
