Inconsistent, meaningless and a bloated gimmicky mess.
This game feels like it was made by perfectionists, for perfectionists but they game up like 80% in the end. (Except for the music, the music is god tier)

I wanted it to be the game of the year but after playing it, I am not so sure.
In the very first instance of opening the game I had to spend like 2 hours trying to remove the god awful sharpening to the visuals and had to mod the game to remove the awfully implemented Depth of field in cutscenes.
The game feels like it has no identity of its own.
It wants all the gimmicks of every other game but implements it mediocrely at best. Elemental weaknesses, nullification, stuns, inversion, flying enemies that dodge base and skill attacks, frame perfect parry and dodges, flying, diving, bloated damage numbers, Inconsistent climbing puzzles, inconsistent mini games, anything and everything but no individuality that may set if apart from other games (except again, the music).
Combat:
In my opinion, the combat of the game is where the game is at it's weakest. Unless you make builds where you cheese the encounters, a natural progression of battels will be you remembering parry patterns of enemies. Just pressing R1. I legit got bored fighting the bosses in this game. Turn based games are usually criticized for having repetitive combat but this game takes the cake for making it so that any strategy is thrown out the window in favor of parrying like 8 moves in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ row. It gets really fking boring in Act 3. It's not difficult but VERY fking tedious.
What saddens me is the game has moments where it is legitimately good but is held back by its desire to be turn based elden ring.
Story spoilers:
It feels like the game takes itself too seriously and then not seriously enough. The characters that the game builds up are deserted every step of the way in favor of characters in the background that you could consider "the gods of the in game world" to the point it feels like the game prioritizes shock factor over actual story. It's fine to aim for tragedy and sadness but if your aim is just that, there is no point to the story itself. Art reflects life and life is a reflection of endless combinations of happiness, sadness, frustrations and triumph but the only two endings of the game are between either your characters have a perpetual but a bound and fake existence, or and end to their world in favor of the life of a family that have not been fleshed out at fking all.
There wasn't a single instance after the end of Act 1 where I smiled in this game. Take that how you will.

The game absolutely nails the horror atmosphere! I haven't felt dread and anxiety by a horror game like this since I played Amnesia for the first time.
The BGM is especially effective at keeping you at the edge.
While many of the games puzzle are quite entertaining, some puzzles in the end feel like the game tries a bit too hard to be unnecessarily complex (and one audio puzzle is broken) but overall, a really fun game.
Looking forward to the sequel!

Masterpiece.
I 100% the game and I have to say, the game is able to succeed in almost everything that it aims to deliver.
2 Things I absolutely adore in games: Good Characters and Good World building.
The game manages to ace both of these for me.

I did not play the original FF7 as I did not continue past FF6 and I have to say, although I know FF7 was well received, this remake took me by surprise by how much I liked, and was invested in it. The Story is was able to have me hooked almost through out the whole game and its DLC, and this is further enhanced by how likeable all the characters are.

Cloud is one of the few characters that I know of who properly succeeds in pullling off the balance between being serious and nonchalant. I was not expecting to Like Tifa more than my expectations for her. I am very happy that her character is much deeper than just a pretty girl that can fight. I can see why people legit crush over her. Aerith is as charming as I had expected her to be and Barret was a character that surprised me with how much I started liking him in the end. The main characters are absolutely beautifully written <3

A HUGE shoutout to those that worked on the side characters as well! Many of them are truly memorable and I can't remember the last time a game gave so much personality to a hot buns merchant. I legit started laughing my ass off when the guy started yelling when I ran past him. The game managed to create an absolute favorite character for me with just 3 lines of an aggressive hot buns merchant who was very defensive about his hot buns XD

I do have some gripes with some of the balancing in Hard mode where the fights can either be way too easy or way too difficult and also some minigames that I had to go through in my multiple replays but in the end, I have to say even the grind was fun. (Also the performance was buttery smooooothhhh!)

This game will be in my hall of fame for the few games that are absolute perfection <3

It is genuinely amazing how much the game managed to annoy the ever living S#!t out of me.
The game as a whole is fine, the environmental story story telling is great even but I could not enjoy the positives of the game just because how many little annoyances I found within the game.
