I adore it! It is a little different than the normal Silent Hill fare (given that it does not take place in Silent Hill) but, it fits perfectly with the rest of the series when it comes to exploring it's themes and the atmosphere of the game. The combat is a little bit of an acquired taste I would say. It is supposed to feel sort of oppressive/clunky.

Resident Evil 7 brought the series back to it's roots in survival horror, while the game does this without fault... there are parts in the game toward the end of the game that weigh the game down in my opinion such as the ship and the mine sections. Even the opening hour starts to weigh the game down after multiple playthroughs. Even with this the game is still really great.
