Creating a PSN account was optional in game, and so was said in their FAQ, but they've just announced that PSN account will become mandatory to continue playing Helldivers 2.

In said announcement is a link to a Support Article that explains that full legal name, surname as well as home address has to be provided to create an account.

We all know, that the PSN account is not a technical requirement, and that this is an anti-consumer decision made to pump up the numbers of PSN accounts so that The Parent Company can boast about it on shareholders meetings. This change also hurts developers who put so much work into creating this front runner for any Game of the Year contest.
