If you want a node based idle game, this one is pretty decent... though maybe turn off the Node sounds early on as they can get obnoxious pretty quickly. I've not got far yet, but looks like there's some interesting depth for this style of idle game, and looks like it'll start to scratch the "must optimise all the things" itch I inevitably encounter. Give it a go, it's free, you can support the game through separate purchases, but there's no dakka. That I can see.

It had its rocky launch, for various reasons be it overloaded servers or Sony being dumb, but the continued release of warbonds, features, weapons, planets, things to shoot at and be shot at by... why, it's enough to want to make you manage democracy! I've gotten a short bit of time in it so far but its already a ton of fun and I look forward to getting as many hours out of it as possible, wringing every last piece of explosive dakka goodness from it I can... go on, you know you want to.

Early Access Review
Do you like mining? Of course you do. Do you like shooting hordes of bugs whilst mining? Well then, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor is for you! "But it's Early Access!" I hear you cry, and to you I say... SILENCE. Rock and Stone, you will trust in your pick and you will mine those shiny minerals, FOR CARL!

Propaganda aside, this themed auto horde shooter is pretty good. There's heaps of artifacts if the achievements are anything to go by, and there's still yet more to be added to the game. The gameplay loop is solid, and the bones of the game are definitely solid. Worth a pickup if you like this style of game, though the fact that the four classes basically say the same lines... maybe I'm remembering Deep Rock Galactic wrong but I could've sworn they had their own way of saying things. But again, Early Access, maybe that'll change, and there'll be more bugs to swat.

Grabbed this for free recently and honestly it was a fun if simple little game. Mine, sell, repeat, afford upgrades, mine critters to death, rinse repeat. The story was... there... and the art style tugged at a nostalgic heart string, but it was a welcome return to the old school. I'm obviously late to the party, but whether free or for cheap, it's a fun if relatively short lived game. I'll likely never 100% it, but that's okay, not everything needs to be a cheevo hunt.

I'm terrible at reviews but...

Pacific Drive, a road trip filled with abandoned shacks, anomaly's, pockets of radiation, and creepy crash test dummies that pull Weeping Angel tricks on you... it has resource collecting, crafting and just general exploration in a relatively interesting world that's quite pretty. There's a few interesting mechanics, but the "Tourists", the creepy crash test dummies, that often congregate at random, move when you're not looking, and occasionally, just appear out of nowhere and throw resources at you.. they're amazing. It's an atmospheric exploration game that manages to be quite chill and rather creepy all at once.

The crafting and modification elements for your car, coupled with personalising your ride have a bit of variety to them, and you can even find decorations for your garage. There's a bit of a research tree locked behind a tiny bit of progression, but it's not so obnoxious that having to explore more to get the resources feels too forced.

It's not going to be for everyone, it's not "action oriented", but if exploration is your thing and you want a twist on it, give Pacific Drive a shot.

If walking simulators are your thing, then this is worth checking out. The whole 60's space vibe mixed with an interesting mystery/story is pretty good. It's pretty linear, with a few minor branches, but you don't often feel held in by invisible walls or the like. There's a few tiny graphical glitches here and there, but they don't detract from the overall experience. I will say, that for a walking simulator, there is something that does feel a tiny bit off about the movement but I think that's just down to how it's mapped to the model. I do like that the options let you hide bits of the visible model, like the helmet and the helmet mic etc.
FInally... you get to use a rover now and then... which has skins. That feels... so out of place but, you also get a bobble head in your rover so I'll let it pass.

After finishing the game on my ailing system and letting the experience marinate a bit... The first game nailed the feel of Space Marines far better I feel. This is still a great Space Marine game, and the little bits of world building you see between missions show that the devs really did care about this game. I can't put my finger on what's missing... Titus is still quite stompy, there's boundless dakka, I still get to smack things in the face with a thunder hammer... but it doesn't feel... quite there, and I don't know why.

If you liked the first game, you're going to find yourself comparing it. It's definitely prettier, but that aside, it's still worth a play. I've not done any of the multi/co-op (my system is old enough I feel I'd be holding folks back), but I've seen enough clips to think there'll be fun there if I ever get the chance. I'd recommend this game, but it is influenced by my being a bit of a Grimdark 40k fan, so, grain of salt and all that.

I'm not an expert by any means, but if you like building things in SPACE and having somewhat mild engineering solutions to things... well then this is the game for you. Mine all the ores, watch as your refineries struggle to refine it, eventually get enough together to build yourself a little ship... give up and go to creative mode and make a big ship that's actually quaint by community standards! And that sounds like a negative but no seriously, it's fun. Build stuff, mod in factions, have fun. Worth every penny.

Early Access Review
I recommend this game because I see the potential, and it's fun in its way... the controls are fairly standard, the mechs can be done up to look pretty cool (and you have a really powerful mech customisation menu)... but I will say that the mechs feel... just a little off. They look like they're meant to be quite agile, but they often feel like something that isn't... there is a good chance however that my opinion is coloured by going from Armored Core 6: War Crime initiator to this, and the movement/mechs are polar opposites. This game however lets me have a double bladed polearm though so it gets an immediate win.

Armored Core isn't for everyone, but if you like mechs shooting other mechs, and being able to modify or assemble your mech to suit your play style, then give Armored Core VI a go. Dakka all the things, all the time. The first mission will throw a hammer at you without apology, so, go in forewarned.
