i can't even begin to describe how amazing this game is. capcom, thank you for making a good resident evil game. i can safely say that in my opinion, this is better than re7.

its alright

After beating the game twice (Once on Normal/Devil Hunter and again on Hard/Son of Sparda), I can say that this is my favorite DMC game and honestly probably the best one. The story in this game is a lot more fleshed out than the others, the same can also be said about the gameplay. The gameplay is essentially the things that made DMC3 so good and the improvements that DMC4 made (like on-the-fly style switching for Dante) and it just made the gameplay (in my opinion) the best in the series.

The story is written in a way that makes it feel like Itsuno's last DMC game and it really feels like he intended to make this his best work (iirc, he stated that once as well). The fighting between Dante and Vergil is finally put to rest to close the portal that interconnects the demon world and the human world, Nero finally gets his own Devil Trigger and basically sets Nero up to be the new protagonist for the franchise.

I obviously cannot speak for Hideaki Itsuno, I am not him, but this game feels like an homage to all of his previous work on DMC. It also really feels like it is him, in a way, passing the torch down to someone else at Capcom, someone else who may want to become the director of the future DMC games (praying for DMC6).

All in all, this is genuinely one of my favorite franchises now. Every game I've played (with the exception of 2), have all been great, but this one... this one right here... this is something special. This is something that I believe everyone who likes these kinds of games should experience (if you haven't already).

As someone who rarely, if at all, plays Hack and Slash games... this is one hell of a good one. I've never really played a Metal Gear or a Metal Gear Solid game, however, this was really fun to play and the story was engaging. I would see people talk about this game and how it should get a sequel and after playing it, I agree. The characters are fun, the story is interesting, the gameplay is great and the performances are also great. The UI was one area where I did have some issues, it is pretty slow to navigate but that's to be expected in an 11 year old game. I do think if you aren't a fan of Hack and Slash games or just want a new game to try out if you haven't played it already, you should give it a try.
