Death's Gambit is a beatiful game, in the full sense of the word. The game's soundtrack and art are fenomenal! The voice acting? It's amazing. It is rare to see an indie game with such artistical polish to it.

At its price tag of 19,99, there is literally no reason to not get it, assuming you like the looks of the game. It is well worth its price in its content. While some are complaining about the game, it is important to keep in mind the difference between design choices and mistakes. If the developopers decided to leave fast travel out of the game. it's a design choice, and you should accept it, instead of criticising it. The game's world is beautiful enough to justify walking around in it. Not to mention that you have a horse to travel longer distances.

The game rewards exploration and good mechanical skill, while macro skills like stat managment are very important as well. The combat makes you think ahead. While you can get away with button mashing to some extent, you will not be able to complete the game without learning the bosses' move sets, and planning out your attacks ahead of time. You will have to manage your stamina and soul energy, which works as a builder-spender system. While you get soul energy by attacking, you can also get it by other means, such as dodging attacks as an assassin, using heals as a wizard or even using certain Auras and talents which increase the soul energy you get.

While at launch the game's had some unintentional bugs, they were quickly fixed, and are still being fixed with the active support of the developers in the game's Discord channel. There you can find help on the game 24/7, or just enjoy a nice chat with fellow players. Being able to accept that the game's launch was a bit clunky, and was fixed in a matter of DAYS, is a very reasonable thing to do, especially since it's an indie game with literally less developers than fingers on your hand. The fact that they are willing to spend their days answering questions and helping out their players, while still collecting bug reports on the Discord, Steam, subreddit and by email, is amazing. The game deserves a playthrough, it's the most fun I've had playing a video game in 2018.
