Anime bull crap.

A weird mix of wooden dialogue, unrealistic characters, tedious puzzle-based gameplay and a non-sensical plot that betrays a pretty childish understanding of relationship dynamics (unfortunately somewhat typical for Japanese culture).

Expect some decent aesthetics, flashy annoying audio cues and a myriad of characters going "huh?! wha?!" every minute or so in the dialogue.

Multiple endings but repetitive gameplay, repetitive set pieces, repetitive dialogue, repetitive everything.

Avoid.

You play Julia, a young lesbian vampire that was drawn to look like a schoolboy's gothgirl wet dream.

She's very clever and has a very complex personality: she hates herself. She's also Polish (and catholic?!) because the developers are also Polish.

Meandering, unsatisfying story.

Very limited and repetitive visuals.

Constant name-dropping, pop culture references and dumb edgy talking points designed to make the writer seem smart.

Dialogue sourced from the "I'm 14 and this is deep" subreddit.

Pretty good soundtrack though.

Supposedly a better experience if you play the other game Masquerade visual novel before this one, but the fact this is a sequel isn't immediately obvious, I don't have the other one, and after this experience I won't bother buying it.

Incredibly complex and rewarding, but also very demanding of your time and attention to detail.

Weird and clunky at times, but also the golden standard for all modern ARPGs.

Nobody asked or hoped for this remaster but we got it (some of us for free even) and the world is better for it.

Thanks Bethesda, they don't make them like they used to. (I mean kinda, but not really.)
