I cried all the way throughout the final scenes and credits. My wife has NEVER seen me cry so much in over 10 years.

(on a more practical note: this game is a clear 9.8 - it does a lot super well, the creative/art/game directors all have great sensibility about what to do and how to make a game that feels rewarding and challenging while keeping the old-FF vibes alive as well. It's a great mix of a lot of things from the past, but but together in a novel way. The .2 deduction is for all those little paper cuts that a smaller team wasn't able to iron out... like all the "filler" luminas scattered around, plus a few places here and there with framerate drops and a few on loading a save when it hard crashed. It's still super solid and worth day 1 purchase. It will stay with me for a long time, and I am planning to 100% it)
