There are still bots in this game. This is supposed to be a mech game not a bot game.

Tekken is a lifelong gamer skill, and there's no better opportunity than TEKKEN 8 to develop it before World War 3 advances further.

A workaround for the game crashing on launch with ANGELSCRIPT or Video Out of Memory errors on your RTX30XX/40XX and 13900Ks is to slightly underclock the CPU. The game is crashing during launch when the CPU utilization hits 100% and triggers the thermal throttling for a few microseconds. Underclocking stops the game from crashing and it still runs at 160+fps on maximum settings at 1440p here.

Game doesn't launch with RTX30/40s 13900Ks, crashes immediately for video out of memory error and Embark's support website that is referenced in the crash dump tool doesn't accept any registrations so you can't report any problems.

What a treat this is! This game has a story, personality, flair, and meaningful progression with a heavy dose of surviving the charming (but angry) depths. The deep Blue Hole will have your Steam Deck ratcheting down to 30fps at times but this actually isn't a hindrance to the action.

The different harpoon tips have different input requirements (think mario party joystick waggling and circles) which you may prefer to map to a Steam Deck trackpad (to keep noise down, or for less motor skill).

This game is deceptively basic - the win conditions are simple but how they get achieved relies on dynamic strategy and adjustments by each team throughout of the rounds in a best-of-5, multiple map format.

The gameplay itself has a high skill ceiling through all aspects of the game, from simply moving and surviving, and throwing berries as a Worker, to the footsies and mindgames (don't get Yomi'd!) behind each of the weapon classes and Queen combat. Think about how Rocket League is just about scoring goals, however the skills used to score those goals are full spectrum from basic to high complexity - you will actually find similar elements of that in this game.

Very rewarding experience, in small time frames (<8 minutes per complete best-of-5 series, typically).

Community is generally positive and welcoming, with weekly events run each weekend.

The #1 problem with this game for me has nothing to do with the gameplay, but that there are not enough players. And $15 bucks isn't going to get seed more players into the game that has failed to take off with any meaningful success on Desura when it was HALF that price.

It's too bad that it's a fun game because there's no North American following to speak of.
