I genuinely don't know where the hate is coming from for this game. This is by far, one of the most fun and addictive competitive shooters out there. The Duality element of this game is fantastic. The gun play is good. The graphic style is awesome. Rounds are fast paced.

Of the negative reviews, the standout thing about them is there play time is so low. You need to play this game to get used to it.

I have put quite some time into a lot of different racing sims (minus iRacing and their awful subscription service, because f*** that) but the one I come back to is AMS2. I love all sims for what they offer, (such as AC for having so many mods, etc.) but AMS2 is the easiest to jump into and set up a race. While the lack of the a career mode detracts from the appeal for a solo player, it is made up by the ease of use with this game. That's not to say it's perfect in this aspect because it's definitely not. There are some actual issues such as default setups being awful, AI balance in wet conditions, multiplayer support, etc. It is impossible to recommend AMS2 without mentioning those issues. However, the immersive visuals, FFB, AI racing, and VR support/implementation is what brings me to this game again and again. Reiza has continually improved this sim over the years. Those buying AMS2 should realize this is a long-running project that will require work.

If you like weapons, this game is for you. If you like learning how to handle weapons, this game is for you. Honestly, I have spent A LOT of time in this game because it's a lot of fun. From combat modes, to shooting ranges, to even a zombies mode, this game is fun for everyone. Anton, the dev, is like NO OTHER game dev. He truly cares about the game and his community. While not officially supported by Anton, there are mods for this game that add a lot to the game, just note, they ARE NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED. Overall a fun game I will continue to play.
