An incredible sequel. Portal 2 really does feel like if you expanded the first game with the budget of a large game studio, and in a good way - all sequels should aspire to be like this. Amazing voice acting, music unlike almost any other game i've played. Puzzles better than any other game i've played, perhaps. A landmark in the medium that deserves to be remembered for decades to come.

Portal deserves its status as cultural monument. Even people who have never picked up a videogame in their life should give this game a chance to see what the best of the medium has to offer, as there is no other game like it. A masterpiece.

This game has some of the best environment design i've ever seen in the medium. Requiring you to constantly be aware not just of the physical location of and connections between places in space, but also in time - the map locks you out of certain places depending on the point in time and requires constant awareness of it. The flight controls take a bit of getting used to but i didn't have any issues after a while. This game communicates its narrative exceptionally well, and has many thought provoking themes that put it up there with some of my favourite science fiction ever. The game had me on the edge of my seat throughout and will stay with me for a long, long time.

This is the best game at executing on its goals that i have ever played, hands down. The atmosphere of this game is immaculate, and each area really invites you to speculate on its history. The combat is the most fun i've ever played in any game, bar none - learning it as a real challenge and i enjoyed it all the way through. The narrative buried in this game's world is mysterious and rewards deep thinking, much like its combat systems, and has some truly memorable details. The history of its world is something i greatly enjoy pondering.
The bosses in this game are some of the most fun i've ever had in a game. I cannot believe this was made by an Indie team and is available for this price - it's the best value you'll ever get on a game in my opinion. The hype is real. Play Hollow Knight.

Incredible. Very arguably the best game i've ever played - it is a game in ludonarrative harmony, a shining example of what the medium should be. The storytelling and the game's mechanics are in perfect synchronicity and the level/world design is awe-inspiring, i can think about it for days. The game is extremely challenging but fun, it teaches you how to overcome it through repetition and offers many paths. The current backlash against Soulslikes in gaming is completely misinformed - all action RPGs should strive to reach the heights of Dark Souls, because it put the industry to shame when it released, and still does. Play this game with online features enabled if you can, there are many fun easter eggs and interactions to be had, even if many of the ingame messages are crude. I've never seen a game that uses multiplayer features as innovatively as the Souls games.

Elden Ring was the best game to come out in 2022, and arguably this decade. It puts every other open-world game to shame. The depth of care put into crafting this world, into integrating game systems with narrative, into teaching its players how to learn its systems and overcoming challenges, is unparalleled in this genre. This is a new standard. Miyazaki does not disappoint.
Shadow of the Erdtree was somehow even better than the base game with a map that encourages creative approaches, and more legacy dungeons up there with the best of the base game. It deserved game of the year.

Only started playing this game this year after not playing an MMO for a decade. Was excited to try and join a real roleplaying community. But it seems Square Enix don't value that community at all and are trying to kill it. So, i'm not gonna continue playing this game, and neither should you.

This is literally the most beautiful game i've ever played in my life. You owe it to yourself to experience the majesty of the ocean at least once.
