An unthinkably awesome experience that remains far too underrated. The game is gross, violent, and difficult, but is unwavering in its message about the value of community and love for your neighbors. Look Outside wears its inspiration on its sleeve. Friday the 13th, Fear & Hunger, The Evil Dead, LumpyTouch, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, and more - the game is chock full of references to other media because it's so clear that its creator loves them all. I look forward to the day that this game becomes ten times as popular as it is now. It certainly deserves it.

Great game. The combat system is simple and intuitive but the fights provide a challenging experience in spite of it. Similarly to Celeste, it gets fun the better you get at it. The platforming almost takes a backseat to the combat though, which is disappointing because it really shines during the rare moments it gets the spotlight. Arguably the best thing about the game is its lore, which is delivered elegantly.

A lot of QoL issues, however. Casual players will find that it takes a long time to get from one point on the map to another because fast travel is very limited. What makes this worse is the amount of rooms that are *almost* empty, save for a few enemies or obstructions that make it annoying to pass through. It can also be hard to find out where to go next since the game doesn't really point you in a direction; the world is big and open and full of nooks and crannies and hidden entrances that don't always show up on the map. (The conceit of this design is to force people to interact with the community in order to find out what they need to do, so this can partially be forgiven.) Falling from a large height, dying, and riding elevators (especially with Mark of Pride, and *especially* on the way to Lurien) all feel horrible. There is only one good song in the entire game (Sealed Vessel). Also, Godhome sucks. It just sucks. There is nothing good about it, and you should never do it unless you want 112% and even then you shouldn't even touch P5. No matter how enticing an hour long boss rush (that resets when you die) with no save points seems, it's not worth it.

Overall though, the game is really fun. But I wouldn't recommend it if you think the first boss is hard because boy does it get so much harder.
