Early Access Review
It has a huge learning curve, but it's fun once you get it down. Be prepared to screech at your monitor like a sperg.

As of the 2.0 release this game has become a banger, and here's why I think so.

1. The combat feels vastly smoother, and each weapon can be incredibly useful when you build your character around it. My personal favorites have been the katanas and pistols.

2. Cybernetics have been reworked. Clothing no longer provides OP bonuses and are simply cosmetic, so now you are reliant on your chrome to turn into bad ass. Every implant now serves a purpose, and provide bonuses as their quality increases. There's a catch now, however; You can no longer just borg yourself out straight out of the gate due to your character having limitations on how much they can handle all at once. You can improve these limits by leveling up, selecting the right skills, or finding incredibly rare shards in chests and on enemies around night city.

3. Leveling is now what it should have been straight out of the gate. You have actual perk trees to choose from that are meaningful and impactful, and a new skill system that encompasses the tabletop's various classes. You can level these skills up individually by finding skill shards or performing combat actions that are associated with that class. Pair these trees and skills with the right cybernetics and weapons and you can turn into a truly bad ass edgerunner.

(Side note) Yes, they did incorporate a scaling system for enemies and like many of you I was worried initially, but i can safely say it has improved the game rather than hinder it. Now boss battles and encounters with tough hombres like corporate militaries are actually a challenge when combined with the improved enemy behavior.

4. Law enforcement actually enforces the law now. Gone are the days of a gonk NCPD squad teleporting in to stop a rampaging V, only to get turned into mince meat a second later. Now they patrol in their cars and will give chase if they see you commit a crime, and should things escalate enough max tac will step in to sort you out. Max tac actually feel like the chromed out bad asses they should be, now, and can kick the ♥♥♥♥ out of you very easily if you aren't prepared.

All in all I think CDPR really did improve cyberpunk in several meaningful ways with the 2.0 update, and I highly recommend the game to anyone who is looking for a good adventure in a cyberpunk setting. Let's hope phantom liberty is a damn good expansion that only improves upon this excellent base that they've built for us with 2.0.
