Single player is good, and I've had so much fun in online over the years that it almost doesn't seem right to give a negative review. But in some respects this game has gotten worse and worse over time.

When it first came out, the game just launched from Steam. At some point they added their own unnecessary launcher that serves me the user no purpose but making the launch take a few more seconds.

"Modders" (what the GTA Online community calls hackers for some reason) went from just dropping money on your head to blowing up everyone in the lobby at once. It's been like this for years.

They took cars off the in-game website in GTA Online so they could sell a subscription service. Which is not even available on PC anyway.

Most recently they added Battleye anti-cheat. Which has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to stop the hacking situation. Me and everyone else in a full lobby got blown up and sent to singleplayer tonight.
When they added this anti-cheat, they made it so that you can not play Online on Linux. Thanks, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It's worth noting that Battleye CAN be enabled for Linux, but they just lie on their FAQ page and say it's Linux and the Steam Deck that don't support their software. Unbelievable.

So they added a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ anti-cheat that doesn't work and has kernel access, disabling support for Online for anyone running Linux for no reason at all in the end.
Why. Just. Why.

So this is where their greed over GTA Online has landed us. All this BS and it's been over 11 years since GTA V came out, 9 years since PC release and we're still waiting on GTA 6.

This is where my friends are. This is where my community is.

I haven't even played all the story or content in this game and I have 80 hours anyway. And it's time I've enjoyed. I know a lot of people have had bug issues lately but I haven't had many issues. (My ship span around in the anomaly once and my whole Windows session crashed but that bug has been fixed I believe and it only happened once for me and I luckily only lost like 5 minutes of progress.)

(Maybe they should make it so the game saves when you get in your ship, not just when you get out.)

Nonetheless, they have been putting out tons of bug fixes. I feel they are dedicated to making their game better.

I would recommend playing it, especially since it's 30 bucks. (Launch day in 2016 was 60.)

Usually, I'm too lazy to review things. But I was thinking about it and I just had to support this game.

It's simple, but it's just so good. Fly around in your ship. Pick up datasticks that lead you around the star system. Read funny and thought provoking stories and other such articles. Shoot some aliens in your ship. Shoot some aliens on the ground on foot. Marvel at the scale of the worlds and truly get a feeling for how big not just this world, but the one we live in, is. Seriously, watching the waypoint marker count down the kilometers as I rocketed through space, it filled me with awe when I first got the game.

Oh, and designing your ship. Moving the rooms about, adding floors, and making sure you have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of fire extinguishers.

This game is just pure fun to me. And you can tell the developer really cares. I highly recommend it.

Edit: I forgot something very important. The music is awesome. Just outstanding. Seriously.
