Early Access Review
Rust is a survival game that heavily centres around base building, raiding of said bases, looting and guns. Being a early access game and still in alpha (they remade the whole game so this stage has been prolonged) many people have avoided it. Honestly this is the best early access game out there. The dev team is amazing and provide frequent updates (no, they have not given up on it and don't seem like they will). It has a healthy player base with new people joining all the time.

The survival aspects are there. You start off naked with only a torch and a rock and you have to move your way up by creating new and better tools and weapons. You face dangers such as the wildlife, a patrol helicopter and most importantly other players. In order to make new items you need to gather wood, stone, metal and sulphur from the enviroment. 'Monuments' and 'rad towns' provide land marks on the map and can be explored in order to find loot such as weapons, tools and blue prints. Each item requires a blue print in order to craft (you have many 'default' blueprints right from the start), the more advanced the item the harder it is to craft and the harder it is to get the blue print.

Rust uses a modular building system that allows players to build whatever their heart's desire. Want to build a shack with one room? You can. Want to build a massive compound with towers and a castle? You can if you put the effort into it. Be aware that people can make explosives in order to raid you. To try and mitigate against this make sure to design your home well. Try and make peace not war with your neighbours unless you want to make it a race to get C4 and blow down the other's base. Don't worry if you can get raided. It happens to everyone and not just once. Try and rebuild in a new area, make new friends and new enemies. Explore the amazing open world.

Rust currently updates biweekly compared to the weekly updates it used to have and each update is either filled with amazing content to keep the game fresh or backend developer stuff to hasten the introduction of new content and provide much needed improvements. The dev team seems to get a lot of crap for not catering to everyone's needs and by being a normal person you would understand that, just isn't possible. I feel this has been caused by the dev team being so good many people have become spoilt brats. I guess that's a good thing. In my opinion this is the best dev team as they work hard and infact do listen to the community. You won't be seeing any DayZ style yearly updates (I still love you DayZ!).

One warning is that Rust takes up a lot of time. Yes, you can jump on and play whenever (you might want to play on modded servers which speed up the process of resource collecting. Each modded server has their own set of features) but to get the most enjoyment out of it, having a weekend/week with little on is the best way to play.

For $20 or the current sale price of $13.39, this game is a no brainer.

CS:GO Review
Pistol rounds are among the most important rounds in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Winning your pistol rounds gives you an economic advantage that makes it much easier to take the following two rounds as well. In a game where the first team to get to 16 rounds wins, winning four rounds cheaply gives you a huge advantage. It s also important to learn to use pistols so that you can take advantage of an eco round . Your opponent have just won a round and now you re out of money. You can t afford a complete loadout but you don t want to throw a round away. This is the time to buy a pistol, some armor and be the John Wayne you know you can be!
Counter Terrorist pistol choices
What's 'Aimpunch'?
When you get shot without armor, your screen will flick up slightly, making it hard for you to hit your target.
Choosing the correct pistol is just as important as knowing how to use it, so let s get started with the buy phase. In the first round of either half you start off with $800. Currently, most professional players choose to use that money to buy kevlar with their default pistol. While I don t think all professional strategies work in matchmaking, this way of starting the CT side is hard to argue with. The accuracy of the USPS-S makes up for the shortage of bullets and having kevlar removes the aimpunch, making it a great pistol setup. If you re using the p2000 instead of the USP-s you ll have enough bullets to keep your enemies at a distance, allowing your team to rotate to your bombsite. Make sure someone in the team buys a defuse kit!
Terrorist pistol choices
The terrorist side isn t much different than the counter terrorist side when it comes to pistols. Most players will want to simply buy armor and stick with their Glock-18. The Glock is a great weapon to run and gun with which is what you ll be doing a lot of the time as a terrorist. A popular strategy among both professional players and matchmakers is the raid boss setup. One person buys armor while another player provides him or her with a Tec-9. They themselves buy a flash and a smoke, giving the team some utility. This way you end up with 4 armored players, one of which has a very strong pistol.
Eco rounds
Eco round buys are often decided on the fly but there are some guidelines for you to follow as you decide what to go for. Because communication in matchmaking is often not much better than Twitch chat, your buys can be decided entirely by what the rest of your team is doing. If nobody buys, you re best off following the group and saving for the next round. However, if all the planets do align and you get to buy a pistol, it s up to you not to buy the wrong one. Buying a p250 is a cheap way to get a gun out of your opponent s hands: it s a great pistol for getting quick, close range kills. You can spam it quite rapidly or take your time and go for the single headshot.
The Five-Seven is a second option on the CT side that offers you nearly the same pistol with a few more bullets per clip and higher armor penetration. The CZ75-Auto is a good gun for standing around a corner, waiting for someone to walk by and emptying a clip into the back of their head. The pistol is expensive, however, and it lacks bullets.Unless you have the perfect position for it, I would always buy the Five-Seven over the CZ.
On the terrorist side, buying the Tec-9 feels like the obvious choice. Being able to empty a 24-bullet clip into your opponent as quickly as the Tec-9 allows can turn a round in your favour. Buying Dual Elites is almost always a mistake, which leaves us with the fan-favorite Desert Eagle. There is no better feeling in CS:GO than shooting someone in the head with a Desert Eagle using only your first shot. Taking out a player who has just invested $6000 in their loadout with a $700 pistol feels like killing an mammoth with a Super Soaker. Using the Desert Eagle is hard so for most players, however, that it s not a worthy investment—but if you re feeling lucky it won t hurt to try it once in a while.
Scoring kills
The counter terrorist s USP-s is freakishly accurate and will get you one-shot kills if you hit your helmet-less target in the head. The small clip size forces you to use your bullets carefullyso aim for the head and don t spam too much unless you re in a close range battle. The Glock-18 requires the opposite playstyle. This gun is perfect for running at your target, shouting obscenities and spamming your left mouse button. Only put the gun on burst mode (right click) if you re going to attempt jump shooting and keep your crosshair on your opponent s head at all times, only correcting for recoil.
What's a 'CHOKE'?
A choke is a hallway, tunnel, set of doors or otherwise narrow location that makes it hard for multiple people to walk through at the same time.
The p250 and the Five-Seven are played nearly identically. Because both these pistols can get one-shot headshot kills on close range—even against opponents with kevlar and a helmet -it s a good idea to try to put yourself in 1v1 positions. You do this by standing around the corner from a choke location and aiming at head height.

What's a 'Recoil Pattern'?
Every gun has its own recoil pattern. After firing your first bullet, your next bullet won t land on the exact same spot. The pattern of where your bullets land on a full spray is what we call a recoil pattern.
The terrorists s Tec-9 is a strong pistol for running and gunning . This gun s recoil pattern is about as random as a best of one group stage so the best way to use the Tec-9 is by spamming it whenever you get close enough for your bullets to actually hit your target. When you do get close enough you have a very good chance of killing your opponent, regardless of which weapon they re using.
The Desert Eagle is less like a pistol and more like a tiny AWP. Wildly inaccurate when you re moving, the Deagle requires you to come to a complete stop before firing off bullets that will instantly kill a helmeted player with a headshot, even from a long distance. For short range kills you can spam your deagle but the more time you give the pistol to reset to its default position, the more accurate your shots will be.
Improving quickly
You don t get to play too many pistol rounds during a competitive CS:GO game so jumping into a pistol-only deathmatch server is a great way to improve your pistol play. Try only using the USP-s and aiming for the head and you ll feel yourself get better every time you play.
A good pistol player can hand their team two of the most important rounds of the game. A great pistol player can turn an entire game around and create some of the most beautiful moments we ve seen in Counter-Strike history:

First of all, I just want to counter-argument everyone who talks negatively about this game's business model, THEN I'll move on to the game itself.
I honestly think that compared to 90% of the F2P games around, this business model, though it doesn't ride the lines of perfection, it almost slides through them. After all, they paid to develop the game, and they need money to keep it alive. And we're talking about Nexon, you're lucky that you can actually be on par with enemy players without paying anything. I'd say you only need to pay for COSMETICS, but if you really want those cosmetics, you can really get them without paying. All weapons are similar and it's all up to preference, and as for the perks, they're just sidekicks, you don't really need them, but they will (sometimes) help you. I currently have 1 Special Edition card (lucky me, RNG), 3 Silvers (traded up from 4 bronze cards each) and currently no Bronze card because I've traded them all up. I also have a BUNCH of Iron and Lead cards, because every 2~4 games you're guaranteed to drop a case for free, rather than wasting 2~3 games worth of currency, which in my opinion, is not a lot.
As for the game, there's not much I can say. I have played in this game's closed beta, and I can only say it has been improving more and more with each update. The gameplay mechanics are fun. The recoil, though very reduced and easily controllable, feels fluid and well conceived.
Now here's what I love: The movement. To me, movement has always been very important in FPS games. From trickjumping back in old Arena shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament, to bunnyhopping in Half-Life and Counter-Strike, I've always done what I can to learn how to use the movement to my advantage. Ever since I learned this game had a long-jump function, I've been studying the maps as I play to make use of this along with the wall-jumps (and the Springy perk) to get around faster than ever, and to avoid all kinds of enemy attacks. The game is fun and addicting, and though there are still very few maps, they are large enough, and have more than one objective each, which avoids boredom.

*Please note that this is an early impressions review of the technical side of the game!

I have only played this for about an hour so I can only talk about the performance and visuals at this stage.

Firstly I'll get the negatives out of the way.
- We knew the graphics would be rather outdated but some of the textures range from terrible to passable. Once you leave the vault, the world looks much more majestic but do keep in mind that this game has been in production for around 5 years so realistically, it's going to look 5 years old.

- There seems to be some rather frustrating form of mouse smoothing in play here which I can't find an option to disable.

The positives!
- It runs very well!

Running on a GTX 780, the game runs at Ultra with no framerate drops in the slightest. I have a 60hz monitor so the game is locked to 60FPS with V-Sync at 1920x1080 and I am yet to see it drop below that.
GPU usage sits around 60% at most times.
*Full specs at bottom.

- CPU optimisation is great and all of my 8 threads are running evenly balanced with each thread utilising around 30-50%.

- Despite my previous comment, the game does look lovely once you step outside of the vault.

- Gunplay feels organic but does suffer from the aforementioned mouse smoothing until the sensitivity settings are tweaked just right.

This game is no Arkham Knight. It's been out for 1.5 hours and it's ready to be purchased and played without patches, game-breaking bugs (so far) and poor performance.

More to come once I've played some more!

Specs:

- Intel i7 2600 Sandybridge - 3.4GHz
- 12GB DDR3 RAM
- Nvidia GTX 780 - 3GB VRAM
- 3TB Mechanical HDD

I can't even begin to give this game enough praise. Why?

I start playing this game with the intent to only play an hour, and realize many hours later how long I've actually been playing. Whether I'm experiencing a bitter defeat, a glorious victory, or a five minute overtime bout I'm still having a blast. I yell, I shout, I pump my fist in hoorah for that aerial save I just made. And I still can't get enough of this game.

Rocket League is a very well polished sportsy footballesque game where you drive cars and try to shoot the ball into the opposing teams goal. It's a simple concept but with all the moves and tricks your cars can perform there is suprising depth in how to play as an indvidual and as a team. You can perform all types of moves, you can do just about any type of roll or flip perceivable, single jumps, double jumps, and you can even fly with your boost. This is one of the few games that I've had this level of drive to master my play, and with two whole days of game time logged away I feel like I've really just mastered the basics and am just now scratching the surface on higher level play.

I'm often a bit hestitant to jump into online games, especially ranked. I find ranked matches in general to be stressful and a little too adrenaline intensive, yet in Rocket League I've had nothing but a blast playing competitively even when I was as green as the turf I was driving on. I've never even hesitated to try new things in competitive games or to try and master aerial shots and other such techniques that are easy to screw up. In short, I've had a lot of fun playing this game and the drive to better my play has been a contributing factor to my enjoyment. Playing with a friend makes the game all the more enjoyable, being able to shout at each other over VOIP about each amazing shot we convert or each epic save we make makes an already exciting game all the more awesome.

Bottom line. This game is FUN. It's just fun. You jump in, you find a match, you play, and you have fun. It's not overly complex, it doesn't add lots of un-needed features. It's straight up action packed fun.

P.S. And of course, like any good driving game, you can customize your ride so you can kick ♥♥♥ in style.
