I've put an acceptable amount of time into this game, and with the most recent update (which includes the addition of an endless rogue-lite style mode as well as massive overhauls to many other systems), I can confidently say that this game is in a really good spot that is definitely worth it's price. I'm a huge fan of this style of co-op PvE game and it really fills a gap that we currently have in this genre. The closest game I can think of is Pulsar Lost Colony but that game does not have near the amount of polish that Void Crew does (at least when I played it last).
Void Crew to me feels like a great balance of gameplay where it takes the idea of Deep Rock Galactic style missions where you drop in with your team to accomplish objectives and combines that with the crew based ship management and chaos of Sea of Thieves... in space. Communication and cooperation are essential in this game and while you can play solo now (following the addition of AI turrets and autopilot in one of the previous updates), the game really is best enjoyed with a full crew of 4 or at least one other friend. Thankfully though, if you are in need of some crewmates the community for this game is also very good and there are usually always a few people willing to squad up in their discord.
