At the time of writing (January 2025), I would suggest that you remain with MSFS 2020. There are too many bugs in many areas, such as Controls resetting, weird ATC calls, C208 with a wonky autopilot, PC-12 without pressurization, EFB without flightplans in career at times. There is likely more, especially with other aircrafts that I haven't flown yet.

TL:DR: Don't buy unless it is at a deep discount or better yet, buy No Man's Sky or any other space game that do have exploration.

I can't recommend this game. The supposedly game 25 years in the making never left 1998. Most of the game is dated, likely due to the use of the Creation engine, which is based on Gamebryo and other than graphical updates (which are lackluster at best), they are essentially the same engine.

There is no real space exploration, just a map with dots that you fast travel with, through loading screens... If they would have hidden the loading screen a bit like Elite Dangerous or No Man's Sky, it would have been better by a factor of 100. Fast Travel is everywhere, rendering your ship almost useless, outside of missions involving space combat.

There are so many things wrong in my opinion that I just gave up. Everything feels uninspired (except maybe 1 or 2 quest line) and bland.

EDIT:
Even with the Creations, which got a quest line with a broken reward (can't reload the rifle) and even with the new Rover, the game suffers from the same issues, since they barely fixed anything... and lets be real, they can't, because of an old buggy engine and outdated design.

Nice take on a classic, plenty of fun to be had, along with the humor.
