So happy to see Shinobi back! Art style and gameplay is freaking amazing.

Now give me my 2025 steam award.

I can appreciate the different approach they wanted to take this multiplayer spin off game, but this fails for me on all fronts. There hasn't been 1 run in which I have had fun in Elden Ring Nightreign.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some PROS before I tear into the game more.

Scaling walls and having no fall damage has been the best part of the game.
Some weapons and ash of war combinations go hard.
A few cool boss songs and boss design.

Wow. that is really it for me tbh.

THE CONS

No duos is a joke. No crossplay is a joke. Matchmaking is bad.

Class selection makes runs restricted and rng even more punishing.

Not being able to select at what point you want to jump off your eagle at the start also makes your runs rng and restricted.

Still has boss problems of elden ring where bosses are to big for the camera/area and you can't see well.

Shared loot in the world is fine, but the drops are usually so bad that most chest and boss rewards you don't even want. There has not really been any time where any of us would get a weapon that would be good for our class from a boss. That includes dropping the weapons for each other that would fit out class.

Day 1 and 2 bosses cheat the zone hard going in and out of it and doing aoe attacks where sometimes the only way to avoid them is leaving the zone and taking damage.

When a run is going well its going to be 45 plus minutes of not being able to pause and having to hit each area at breakneck speed to even stand a chance for the day 3 boss.

This game puts me in a weird spot in which I thought jumping in and out of fast paced matches would be fun, but it just makes me want to play normal souls game at my own pace and not the rushed mess this makes you run through very limited parts of the map.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end I accept this game just isn't for me. It compounded all the problems elden ring had for me and multiplayer only added to it. Thank god this wasn't a full price game and to be honest even at the $40 mark I do not recommend this game. I would say wait for a sale, but with no crossplay and the duskbloods waiting in the wings I feel this games playerbase will be very low by then.

I played Marvel Rivals for over 2 hours. Now steam won't let me refund it.

Resident Evil 4 REmake took a really long time to come out. For the last 18 years we have waited for a remake or an other Resident Evil game with the same combat and level structure as OG RE4.

Was it worth the wait? Let's find out!

First off, the controls and the combat are excellent. Every REmake has had better and better combat and RE4R is the apex of combat on the RE engine.

Level design for the most part is pretty faithful but with some new or reworked areas to explore further.

Side missions and treasures really flesh out the Village making every area worth exploring at some point.

Castle section is added upon but also removed some areas. This part of the game for Original 4 and REmake has issues for me.

Luis has a lot more to do this time. Bigger back story and lasts much longer this time around.

Krauser Lets Leon "Stick Him" as they lock eyes and he takes his last breathe.

Game might have good music but Capcom doesn't know how to mix their sounds correctly, as I can never hear the music in their remakes.

Mercenaries doesn't have the charm of the original, but it isn't bad.

The Ada DLC really makes the game feel more complete albeit it is an extra $10

For context before I give my final score and verdict. I have been a big Resident Evil fan since 1999. The franchise really dropped of for me starting with the original Resident Evil 4. As much as I do not like where the story and franchise went from there. I can be honest and say that the original RE4 is still a trail blazing game that still has better game design then most games in 2023. The REmakes have been bittersweet for me because the combat and controls are really good, but a lot of the charm is gone without the fixed camera angles and they played it to safe with all of the stories.

FINAL VERDICT

This is a game that you should pick up at any price and you won't feel bad about it. This is a banger of an action/survival game and could easily win GOTY in 2023.
