This game is everything that I've wanted out of 7 Days to Die for almost a decade that still haven't been implemented. Survival mechanics are incredibly deep, which is awesome. Also, you get to customize your character, which seems like a no-brainer... *cough* RUST *cough*. Great fun so far, only a couple hours in, with many more in my future.

I really enjoy this game. At this point I’ve put a significant amount of time into Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and it’s been a blast.

Despite what many others have said, I actually quite enjoy the gear score and loot system that was introduced here. I like the added progression. I like chasing upgrades. And I really like that I can disable it if I want. That flexibility is a huge plus. I know it wasn’t everyone’s favorite change, but it works for me. They should honestly add this to wildlands as a feature that you can enable, that would be awesome.

My wife and I have been playing almost exclusively in co-op together, and it’s been incredibly fun. There was practically zero learning curve, which was a bonus for her because she doesn’t play nearly as many games as I do. We’ve been paying close attention to the story, and although it does has its weak moments, there have been times where we both had genuine emotional reactions to certain events — which is honestly above and beyond what I would expect from a Tom Clancy game lol.

Exploring is a lot of fun. The combat is really fun. There’s a ton to do, which is great. I’ve already gotten well over 100 hours out of it, and we’ve easily got another hundred plus to go before we’re finished.

I do have three complaints.
First: the key binding is atrocious. Quite frankly, I find it g*dd*mn ridiculous that in 2026 we don’t have consistency across games with how keys are bound. Games from 20 years ago handled this better. If I’m rebinding a key, automatically unassign it from its existing assignment. End of story. None of this double-binding bullsh!t. Don’t warn me that it’s already bound and that I need to go unassign it. I’m literally trying to assign the button to what I want — so f*cking unassign it and reassign it for me. JFC.

Second: the online connection requirement. That’s also a ridiculous design decision. It’s a single-player game. You have the ability to play in a private mode. There is absolutely zero reason why this game should require an internet connection. This needs to be removed. If the game wasn’t so fun, this would carry a lot more weight in my overall opinion.

Third: character movement. This one is minor. Occasionally movement feels clunky, sluggish, or delayed. It’s not consistent for me. But on the rare occasions that I feel it, it always seems to be at one of the worst possible moments, which makes the aggravation of it heightened by the circumstances. Again, not consistent — just frustrating when it does happen.

Overall, the sheer fun and immersion — and the hundred-plus hours I’ve already gotten out of it — vastly outweigh these grievances. It’s been an incredibly fun way to share my free time with my wife, and that alone makes it worth it. And we’ve easily got another hundred plus hours ahead of us.

Paid money for this game, was never given the option to create my character, and apparently there's no way to customize it either. Just stuck with whatever the f*ck I was given? Lame. Game looked fun, but not interested now, and I'm not paying for this sh!tty privilege. Refunding. Dumb f*ckin design decision.

You royally c0cked this experience up with your sh!tty launcher that doesn't let you bypass it, despite having a worthless option that trolls you into thinking so. Morons.

To run WRATH: Aeon of Ruin without the Fulqrum Launcher, you can bypass it by setting a custom launch option:

1. Open your Steam Library.
2. Right-click WRATH: Aeon of Ruin and select Properties.
3. In the General tab, find the Launch Options field.
4. Enter the path to the game’s executable followed by `%command%`. For example:
```
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\WRATH\Wrath.exe" %command%
```
Replace the path with the actual location of `Wrath.exe` on your system. You can find it by navigating to the game’s installation folder (right-click the game in Steam > Manage > Browse local files).

5. Close the Properties window and launch the game. It should now run directly without the Fulqrum Launcher.

This method works because the launcher was added post-release, and Steam can be configured to run the game’s main executable instead. If the game doesn’t launch, double-check the file path for accuracy.

I bought this game 5 days after launch, and I really enjoyed it. It definitely was not what was promised to us at the time, but I still had a blast playing it. After my initial burst, I sort of forgot about the game (as I often do with games, chores, people, etc..) as it became out of sight, out of mind for me and I moved onto other games and hobbies.

I revisited again in 2018 and was astounded at how much had been added in. It was incredible, I hadn't played in two years, and I had all this new content and material to explore. I managed to get my girlfriend interested, and the two of us dove back in head-first. We had a blast. But again, after a hyper-focused month or two with the game, we put it down and went on our merry way.

Fast forward to now (April 2023). I just got the itch to play again, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game is lightyears (no pun intended) beyond what it was when last played. As someone who struggles with neuro-divergence, I often start to space out while playing games and lose interest in what's at hand, or just start meandering around aimlessly instead of doing whatever the game wants me to do at any given moment. With No Man's Sky, that just DOES NOT HAPPEN to me anymore. I mean, it does, but the game almost facilitates that as part of the experience instead of having that derail my progress. In this game, I can forget what I am doing and wander off and stumble into something else totally fun. Random new ships, or rescue missions.. Getting lost is fun. This game offers so much to do, from exploring aimlessly, to crafting and building, to running missions, pilot combat... I love it. and I love the complete and utter lack of pressure or feeling of a deadline. You can get as much as you want out of this game, which makes it rewarding to put effort into. And even if you don't put any effort in, you still get something out of it.

Anybody can check, I am not an avid game reviewer. I am leaving this review because of how much I love this game and how much I appreciate the amount of work that Hello Games has put into it. If every developer supported their games the way Hello Games has with No Man's Sky, then the standard for quality would be much higher for the games we play in general. Seriously guys, your game is one the best in my entire collection.
