I got into this game after watching some folks on youtube play it, and it seemed like great fun. And for the first hour or two, it actually is!
But once you clear the first handful of maps, expect to grind hundreds upon hundreds of attempts on utterly unforgiving maps JUST to get a clear. Not a good score, a CLEAR. The difficulty jumps off a cliff fairly quickly, and it's honestly just not fun to go from clearing a map in a few tries and then improving to literally not clearing it after a hundred plus attempts one map later. If you like a HARD challenge where you have to play perfectly just go get a map clear, go ahead. If you think this is casual fun, go look elsewhere.

This game is better than it has any right to be. The gameplay itself, the actual mining, shooting and saluting (rock and stone!) is tuned to perfection in my eyes, and keeps me coming back over and over, because it's just that good.
It manages to feel fresh every time, and communication with randoms is generally smooth and easy, using just the laser pointer and your rock and stone salutes.

Full recommendation, one of my favorite games now!

Beautifully made stealth game. If you're a fan of the genre, this plus part one is a must, imho.

10/10 will make you work out a sweat.

Satisfying AF to play, addictive as heck. Your arms will be on fire and you're drenched, but you still kinda want to keep going. Probably best VR game to get, period, especially with custom songs.

NOTE: This is a conditional recommendation, read on to hear why.

Firstly, let me say that I use a Rift S, and that I also use a gun stock, so your experience may vary. A lot of people seem to have trouble with various HMDs, but I can only speak from my perspective.

Take the advice to heart that other people have given, and disable the tunnel vision stuff etc. I did that straight away and I have had no motion sickness issues whatsoever. Performance also is completely fine, and I can read the HUD well, too.

Gameplay wise, it's Borderlands, fast paced shooting, though at least in my eyes, it can be a bit harder, especially if you're like me and want to aim down the iron sights a lot, since that can be tricky. And yes I run without the crosshair helpers, it sort of works out. Very fun, but ups the difficulty for sure.

So on the good side:
* It's Borderlands 2 with all DLC available for free, which is nice.
* Graphics work fine, I have not run into any scale issues personally
* Performance is solid, I had a couple brief hitches when loading something, but nothing to disrupt gameplay
* Smooth movement or teleport both available and work good
* Plays nice with a gun stock and adds immersion

And the gripes:
* No co-op, which is a shame
* No two-handed rifle handling. Gun stock can circumvent that, but not everyone has one or wants to spend the money. Nor should they be expected to in a game about GUNS. This is an oversight.
* As far as I can tell, no proper scope optics. How awesome would H3VR style scope optics be for snipers and longer range engagements?
* Apparently a LOT of issues for people with other HMDs. This needs to be fixed asap. The game does not warrant the rating it has right now, but until it fixes the outstanding issues, this rating is somewhat deserved.

To me, it's a solid 8/10 right now, for others, it will be a 1 or a 0 because of it simply not functioning.
My recommendation? If you have a rift S, give it a try. Disable the tunnel vision stuff, see if you like it. Refund if not, or hold out for bugfixes.

Here's hoping the devs address the gripes. Two-handed weapon gripping, proper weapon optics, fixing the bugs. Co-op might not be as easy to do, but would be a great thing to add in later on.

Would I recommend this game? No, not really. If you'd like to know more, read on, else just give this a pass, at least for now.

Cube world started many years ago as an alpha, a simple little voxel rpg with endless progression through items etc. It was simple, challenging in its own way, and fun to mindlessly explore the endless reaches and just scout for new and shiny items.
Now it has released, and it has changed, sadly not for the better.

You begin by picking one of 4 classes, of which I have tried warrior, mage, and ranger. Each class has two specializations available which changes some of your abilities. Mage for instance has the ability to go fire or water, the latter of which has some healing potential. You then are tossed into the world with little to no explanation, and attempt to fight your first mobs, only to most likely get killed by them within short order. You figure out that the point of the game is to obtain gear within a region and fight some top end quests to receive your rewards, which will increase your level by one and you can move on to other regions to do the same.

Here's the major rub: Your gear will be invalidated in the other region, meaning you end up having to start the gearing process all over again. Furthermore, there are several key items that you use for movement, and which might take a long time to obtain in the first place, namely a boat, a hang glider, and reins to ride your pets. These also only work within the region you obtain them in, giving you a jarring feeling of lost progress. Have I experienced this feeling? Actually no, I will elaborate on that in a moment.

The problem I personally faced in my 15 hours of play time and 3 characters, was that at some point I just found myself unable to meaningfully progress in a region due to multiple factors. Quests, for instance, are given out by talking to npcs, they have a chance to spout random information at you or to alert you to a quest location, which then appears on your map. After a while, getting any more quest info happens rarely to never, which means you might have bad luck and just simply never get ,say, the quest to find your reins. This happened on my mage. They are out there somewhere, but good luck stumbling across them in the vast region. Now I get to walk everywhere quite slowly.
Another issue is the quests themselves. Mage type enemies are immensely powerful, especially the boss variants. If they use wand weapons, the first hit will always land, and the dodge skill, while instant, also doesn't always get you out of trouble. I've dodged mage ultimates before, only to get annihilated by them anyways. As such, if you play a mage or ranger, forget trying to fight mage bosses. You will most likely just get pulverized within seconds. This means some quests simply are impossible to complete, or at the very least require an immense level of patience and skill, as well as copious amounts of cheese, such as abusing the terrain.

Combat is simplistic, and ranged classes will have a hard time, unless you play a scout with boomerang and have access to CC. Enemies always match your runspeed, which means as a ranged class, once the enemy inevitably closes with you, they will /always/ be on your heels. You can't stop and turn to fire at them or you WILL get hit, since some enemies have an incredibly fast attack animation. This makes boss fights as a mage particularly infuriating and an excersize in frustration, forcing you to abuse the terrain to gain a little distance now and then, yet 80% of the fight will consist of running in circles waiting on one cooldown or another.

Furthermore, whilst crafting exists, I only managed to ever craft a single item in my 15 hours. Despite collecting every resource i came across, nodes are so immensely rare and resource costs so prohibitively high, that you simply will not craft, period. Unless you get lucky with your node spawns, which leads me to the final problem.

EVERYTHING in this game is based on luck. The pets you tame? Luck. Pets require items to be tamed, which are randomly found in vendors and on mobs.
The items you find? Luck. Vendor inventories are random, and I've had a hell of a time trying to find a better main hand weapon for my warrior so I can take on the few quests still on the map, but in hours of play, no avail. And the quest for the relevant crafting book has not been given to me yet or I could at least farm for it.
The quests you are given and whether they are feasible to complete? Luck. NPCs will only sometimes give you a quest location, and good luck finding them by yourself. This also means you might spend hours without boat, glider or reins, which are pretty important for somewhat comfortable exploration.
How long you get to play before you run into a deadlock you can only break through with a LOT of determination and time? Complete and utter luck because of the above factors.
Whether you'll defeat this one boss? Also partly luck. I've had fights I had under control, when suddenly I missed one cue and I get hit twice for half my HP, and the fight was over. Extremely frustrating.

Right now, give this game a wide pass. I really want it to be fun, but right now it is frustrating more than anyhting. I can see the potential, and WANT to play it more, but there just isn't any point right now. Avoid it.

Played for hour and a half, felt like I just did a good workout. Hit something outside my boundaries once or twice. Great game, would recommend.

I only have a handful of hours into the game yet, but as someone who enjoyed a casual play of FS17, I have to say I thoroughly enjoy it.

I will absolutely admit that it has bugs right now, but have faith that the developer will be on top of them within a few patches.

I think the biggest gripe people have is that the seasons mod hasn't been integrated into the base game, and I feel like yes, this is an oversight, especially after hiring the modder who created said mod, reportedly.
I absolutely understand that the seasons gameplay, while fantastic in the eyes of many people, is the opposite in the eyes of many others. But the fact that the mod exists proves that it could always be integrated as an optional game mode.
But who knows, maybe it has been Giants' plan all along to include it as a free, official mod later down the road, I will keep my eyes on it.

Now to discuss the other gripe many people had: The lack of feature additions. Personally I don't feel this as strongly. Seasons aside, the game is very robust in my eyes, and seems to appeal to a certain target demographic, semi casual players to more involved gamers, however it does lack if you want to go into the true, x-plane 11 style simulation realism. It won't provide you with that level of involvement. And yes, I would love some more options, like being able to unload bigbags only if you move them into position above a seeder etc, or other such things. I hope that we will get such things eventually.

I can't really fault Giants for doing incremental increases, they seem to want to innovate carefully, use some mods and their community as guideline for what everyone seems to like, and take slow steps. For some, this is too slow, for me, personally, it feels right.

And of course, there is the large amount of things that DID make it into the game, a little list here.
* New crops, cotton and oats, as well as the FS17 DLC crop sugarcane (DLC features in sequel base game? Im looking at you, Sims)
* New horses with unique mechanics, feed them oats, ride them to train them and sell them at a profit later on
* Chickens are like pigs/cows now, buy, multiply them, feed them rather than them being decoration
* Milk needs transporting now
* Weeds are a full field action now rather than weeders counting as fertilizer stage
* New graphics engine that allows for some really beautiful shots
* New, cleaner, and imho much more useable UI

There is more, and what impressed me the most personally, is all the tiny little details, such as animated PTOs and vehicle interiors, proper tire collision models, a weightier feel to everything, better sound design, lovely 3d clouds. Alone they don't sound like much, but to me, they alter the feel of the game. FS19 feels more alive, feels more like you are handling big machinery than FS17, the world feels more expansive and more atmospheric.

Granted many feel different, as is evident by the review score. But looking at the huge amounts of work that went into making this game, and the passion the developers have for it, as well as my personal experience with it, it certainly does NOT deserve the 60% it sits at right now. Personally I would rank it easily at 80% or above.

Mind you, this is my personal opinion~

Defintely a fun game to me. I may be biased since I always wanted a game that focuses on burglary above all. Not the Thief series, not Dishonored - both of them amazing series and wonderful at what they do - but simply a game about breaking into people's houses and clearing them out.
This game is all about that.

Now before I get any further, I will reccommend one thing. Enable hard mode. Everything is much more intense when you don't get a minimap or person radar, and you have to rely more on your instincts. Also do yourself a favor and avoid buying tenant information, instead just scope the place out. Much more immersive that way.

Gameplay wise it's fairly straightforward. Scope out the place, mark your routes of entry, and once the time comes, get in and go about your business. Be sure to be quick about it, yet still quiet if the tenants are asleep or even up and awake, and sometimes come back more than once if say, you spot something you couldn't snag on the first visit.
The map is open world, and limitations from missing tools aside, you can hit up any place you want. There are story missions that mainly consist of "steal X" or "break X" as far as I have played, and you are able to take on other hit jobs for houses to do additional objectives.
Furthermore, the black market allows you to sell certain items - or groups of items - for a bit of extra money, rewarding keeping an eye on it.

Graphically the game definitely suffices, it looks good enough in my eyes, and has no graphics issues I can see, except from a rather weak AA algorhythm that doesn't really reduce the jaggies all htat much. But from a performance standpoint, no complaints here.

Gameplay wise, I would comment on three aspects I found to be a bit negative. One, the AI spotting is often instant, I would prefer a system a bit more payday oriented. Two, hiding is a bit too brainless and easy, and should be implemented a little better. And lastly, even at night houses are bright enough from ambient light so as to not necessitate a flashlight whatsoever, maybe this changes later, but for now I flat out don't need it. I would love some changes there to make night time burglaries a bit more intense.

Now to address some complaints other people had:
- Quick time passage: A bit odd but I like it, makes it so that you have to move quickly to capitalize on people being out of the house, and puts an element of tension on you breaking in, putting you under pressure. Of course you can always find out tenant routines and instead break in while they are sleeping, giving you much more time, but also greater risk and a need to move quietly.
- Tight inventory/car inventory: Once again a limiting factor, forcing you to choose valuable items and remember what fetches a good price or is wanted on Blackbay, rather than simply mashing E on everything that comes your way, I like it. One suggestion however, I would love to be able to get a different car eventually, perhaps even acquire and convert a stolen vehicle for one extra large item slot. That would be just about perfect.

All in all a game that in my eyes, is worth the price, and offers a lot of fun. And once more my reccomendation, play it in hard mode, its better!
