Good or Bad?

I'll give you my honest opinion having played the game and the rest is up to you with what you do with that information!

Review Points:
My Opinion:
Worth the price tag?
Currently priced at £41.99 (and I bought the game at full price), I would say there is enough content to warrant the full price tag... But only just, before it begins to become repetitive gameplay.
Graphics?
If you're an avid Crusader King fan, then you'll know the graphics of the franchise are not fantastic; it's more of a "table-top" game with minimal graphical content - compare it to the Civilisation games if you will. However, this instalment of Crusader Kings has touched up some of the UI and player/AI portraits. So it's not awful to look at in all honesty, but bear in mind that you're going to buy this game for the gaming element and not the visual element. If you want a tactical game with more visuals, I'd highly recommend the Total War franchise instead.
Gameplay?
The gameplay is solid. You're playing a dynasty of heirs throughout the ages and it becomes quite complex very fast if you're not accustom to the Crusader King franchise... I wasn't! This is the first proper Crusader King game I've played and it was a steep learning curve; but bear with it!!! Once you learn the basics and understand the fundamentals of the economical system then you'll begin to truly enjoy this game.

I must admit - there is also an element of your imagination that's required to truly enjoy this game. What I mean by that, is because the game lacks graphical "cut-scenes" you can sometimes fast-forward years with your ruler/heir which leaves a lot of gaps in your ruler's timeline where you're imagining what they're doing with those years. But you have to remember, you're not just playing one character in this game, you're playing many. So far in my dynasty I've had various different types of kings spanning from a "Mad King" to "Builder King" and "War Mongerer" - every character is different and you utilize their strengths to your advantage to either build your kingdom, expand your territories or simply just try and survive if nobody likes your new king!

It's also worth mentioning that the game throws a lot of random events at you. So be prepared to fight a pandemic (like the plague), defend yourself from enemy rulers declaring war, safeguarding yourself from espionage or being assassinated and many many more random events... But I will say... These random events do become repetitive once you've seen them a few times and you'll begin to automatically click options out of muscle memory to just get rid of them.
Overall opinion?
My truthful honest opinion... This game is worth playing, but it has a very niche fan-base. Not everyone will like this game! So be warned. If you enjoy tactical/strategic games like Civilisation/Total War/Age of Empires then you're going to enjoy this game. However, this game lacks those graphical interludes - so you won't see the battle taking place for example or any other cut-scene of a major event. Everything is number based and running behind the curtain, which I think makes this game unique as it has so many statistics and figures it's calculating behind closed doors to make decisions and outcomes within the game.

So I would highly recommend this game, but this game separates the novel readers from the picture-book readers.

Please remember that this review is based upon my own opinion having played the game for a length of time to develop a constructive piece of feedback. This review may change at a later date should the game be updated/patched significantly to change any of the above mentioned topics I've mentioned.
