This game is just like the board game on a screen. I like catan. It reminds me of those cosy evenings with the family - in denmark - sitting next to a stove - around a table with catan built upon it.

However this version of the game and the way they charge money for it makes me feel like a very old cow that has been molken for decades.

Multiple things I absolutely hate about this game and the greediness of the devs / USM / whomever:

You cannot change the winning points needed for the game. You need to buy the game. Ok.

You want to buy the addons collection for 1300 catan gold?
Yea go buy multiple bunches of gold (2x 500 -> 6€ each + 1x 300 -> 3,5€ each -> 15,50€ total) to have the exact amount needed or
get more (like 1x 900 for 9€ each and get 1x 500 to have 100 gold in spare that are completely useless -> 15€ total) or
get even more (2x 900 for 9€ each) to have something in spare to waste for inka addon. Well, direct buy would end up in less margin for sales.

But once I got those addons, I fired up a lobby with seafarer addon just to realise it refuses to invite my friend saying he does not have the addon (he needs to throw money at the devs also), like what the hell?
Furthermore I'm still not able to select maximum round time (in case the bots end up in a loop of fallasleepism), not able to select the amount of points needed to win, still not able to set peace mode for the robber in a lobby with a vanilla player. Well, are you serious?

I like catan, the board game and all memories I'm glad nobody can take away from me.

But this experience makes me feel deeply molken, like the devs give a bloody damn about their players nowadays and all they want and aim for is pure cash the most dirty way. C'mon, not even Ubisoft is this dirty.

I would totally refund if I could, oh wait, USM did exclude this when buying catan gold.
Yea USM, you got my disrespect for these methods.

Downloaded this game for the free weekend, fired it up in excitement just to find out the tutorial is not even working. Wait, why is everything empty? Dunno, just go ahead and start right nowww! Menu goes empty, why is that happening? Ok, lemme go back to main menu. Hold on, how do I exit the menu? Alright, go through the shop in order to get back to main menu. Gotcha, nice try, no penny for you however. Lets start a quick drive. Hey now, still empty. Let's have a look at what I'm doing wrong. Have a quick look at the shop page. Wait, why just 'Mixed' reviews? Maybe I'm having a common problem. Oh, now I see. Ofc I haven't grabbed any DLCs at all yet. Wow, didn't see that one coming. An empty game to play for free? No 'excrement'. Well, lets send it down the drain immediately until more time is lost. Wait, time? Still got enough time left to leave a well deserved review for a textbook example of how to milk a custo.. cow the most evil way.

No thanks, Dovetail Games. Thank god you've left a mark so I won't forget what dev / publisher to avoid giving any money to, ever.

Just finished the last piece of the story and it caught me - once again it made me suffer from hard decision making - what this game is all about, hidden in a story with a psychological demanding plot I've never seen before in a movie, let alone a video game.

When I first started playing Life is Strange (LiS in short) back in late July this year, I had the impression this would be some sort of 3D-point-and-click-adventure with options to choose from at some points. It took me a while to realise there's more to it than just to choose and go ahead. It turned out to become a very challenging task of decision making that only became harder as the story went further.

LiS adds a unique feature to decision making that allows to play around with one decision and pick another to see what that brings, but as a whole this feature helps little to nothing for the type of decision you'd rather want to get right because it's final and you have to stick with it and its consequences. Get right? What is a right decision? What is right at all? Is my right even wrong and if it is, how do I know?

The way of storytelling in LiS is really good and by really good I mean it's can't-hold-it-anymore-I-need-to-cry-good. You get much of it by interacting with the world around the protagonist, who tends to think loudly from time to time to let the player know what's going on inside her head. Cutscenes between parts of exploring, interacting and decision making are a good diversion from the first person view. Situations but more important emotions are put into scene indescribably well.

LiS from what it is, is not really my favority type of game, but I'm really glad I didn't miss out on it and I will definitely play it again in future. So if you are unsure whether to play LiS or not, simply ask yourself the question: "Do I want to uncover and be part of a deep, well told, captivating story with authentic characters and lively emotions?"

But keep in mind - it's psychological challenging at times and will most probably pull up emotions combined with tears one does not enjoy too much.
