This looks, sounds and plays like (and probably is) someone's early attempts with Unity. There isn't very much to do - I think it's about 10 levels, a scoreboard and some simple powerups and collectibles.

That said, the game is feature-complete and of decent quality for what it is. The titular hedgehog is cute and the art and music is wholesome. If you like hedgehogs and have a dollar to spare, this is a good place to spend it and support what I imagine is an aspiring developer :)

The development of Crusader Kings 3 by Paradox Interactive was a labour of love that reflected a meticulous commitment to historical accuracy and player engagement. The team at Paradox invested significant effort into crafting a game that not only builds upon the successes of its predecessor but also pushes the boundaries of the grand strategy genre. Extensive research went into accurately representing the medieval period, from the intricacies of dynastic politics to the cultural nuances of the time. The attention to detail extends to the game's intricate character interactions and the dynamic storytelling system, where every decision and event has a meaningful impact on the player's narrative. With a robust engine and a user-friendly interface, Crusader Kings 3 demonstrates a dedication to delivering a rich and immersive gaming experience about seducing your sister and plotting your brother's death to take his inheritance.

I just spent 20 minutes writing an extensive review and then clicked a button in steam and it got deleted :) so I'll just be writing a short text that will devolve into a slight rant as it progresses:

Played GalCiv2 as a teenager. Liked it. Good memories. This game, perhaps because older and more critical - not so good (but also not awful, mind you). Securing borders (the game keeps telling you there's ships inside of them!) tedious as heck, game would need area denial starbases, a way to prevent factions from sending ships into your realm ("get out or I'll destroy your ship", but w/o declaring war since it's your own damn airspace (spacespace?) and as such defending it should not be a huge offense. They flew into it). Built up a million ships and micromanaged everything just so my borders were secure.
I lost a planet early on before I learned you had to defend them with ships. I reloaded the game and did it differently, no big loss, but it bothers me that planets are completely unable to defend themselves when besieged. It's instantaneous. Realistically, wouldn't they have armed forces? Shouldn't it take at least a few turns...? Not really a problem once you understand, but unintuitive and imho badly realised.
Game is really bad at giving you the information you need when you need it or even explaining stuff - I come from CK3 and that game does that really well. I never felt "in the know" in this game, and that bothers me. Information display is chaotic and unorganised.
Maybe I was playing on a difficulty too low to be enjoyable but the game quickly devolved into a turn-by-turn "what stat can I improve by 1% this turn" and building up a million ships because I could do that with no upkeep. Exciting things just stopped happening.
The thing that just made me quit - and I think I might not pick this up again - is the fact that every time I try to conquer an empire, I take 1-2 planets and the empire gives up. They either give their planets to another faction - which is fine, I can just take them - or they stop existing. You know the Dwemer in Elder Scrolls? Yeah, they just go poof and their planets with them. The entire planet disappears in a single turn along with its billions of population. I'm not a friend of unrealistic game mechanics, and surely there are better ways to handle this. Have it become independent. There's no endgame. Unless you view bullying NPCs into rage-quitting as an endgame.
In general, poor design in many ways. Chaotic. Bloated with features. I had a spy on my planet and I think I managed to make him go away? By sending my spies? And then my spies just disappeared? Also constructor ships and supply ships and transport ships disappear. I do not understand why everything just disappears in this game. Just because I don't have legions remaining doesn't mean the ship poofs out of existence. Also, starting to build a ship that costs administration and then cancelling it doesn't seem to give you back administrators. More disappearing stuff. Nothing is really explained, everything is just micromanagement, there doesn't seem to be a goal at some point. Fun sometimes! Fun coated with tedium. I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of minor annoyances, but I'll leave it at this. Maybe I haven't spent enough time with this game - maybe some people who know more about all this and understand the intentions of the devs have less of a problem with things - but for me, as someone who casually picked up this game to spend a bit of time on, it just... wasn't that fun. It didn't keep me engaged.

Overall, "meh" - 6/10. Thumbs down because Steam is asking if I would "recommend this game to other players" - I would not, simply because there's nothing much to recommend about it. It's flat. It gets boring quick. Do not expect anything special. If you're looking for a good grand strategy, I recommend CK3.

It's weird.
I've always wanted a multiplayer Fallout and this is exactly that, but then
this is one of the most underwhelming multiplayer experiences I've played, but then
there's so much stuff to explore and see and find and collect, but then
it's a premium game with a premium currency and a premium subscription, but then
they keep bringing content like new, interesting enemies and the board game thingy, but then
it's so absolutely riddled with glitches and poor performance and technical issues, but then
you meet nice people and sometimes have wholesome interactions, but then
cheating is rampant and PvP is horribly broken, but then
C.A.M.P. building and decorating is so much fun, but then
just about everything in the game is broken in one way or the other.

What I mean is - I want to enjoy the game and what it has to offer, I really do. But it just doesn't work.

So, uh. Generally, the game is... eh. I played this in order to be able to import my save into W2 and then eventually into W3 (neither of which I've played yet!). I went into the game not really expecting anything in particular, so my negative review is not due to unrealistic hopes for the game. I knew I wasn't getting into a masterpiece from the start.
I do kind of feel bad for giving this game a negative review because it's not per se a low-quality product - work was put into this and you can tell. On the other hand, I just cannot recommend this game, regardless of the devs' efforts.

With that said: Okay-ish plot. Nothing insanely deep/philosophical/original, though - fairly generic. Lots of plotting (haha), betrayal, and "oh no he was the bad guy all along". Honestly - at times, it felt convoluted, aimless and confused. Very interesting lore, however - this is where the game shines! I enjoyed reading all about monsters and stories and past events - it's just that the ones that happen in the game weren't so exciting. While we're on the topic of writing - mostly believable characters. Dialogue sometimes funny - sometimes fairly incoherent and confusing to follow. English translation might be to blame? Immersion wasn't bad, but not great, either. Some areas - i.e. the fields in Act 4 - I liked. Really felt the atmosphere there. Other areas not so amazing. A lot of reused models and animations (that is, when the characters weren't busy t-posing) made it hard to really get involved for me. As a hobbyist musician and somebody who likes a lot of different styles - the music unfortunately wasn't amazing, either. It's okay to listen to in the background of the game but I cannot, for the life of me, recall a single memorable piece from the game. Overall, again, fairly generic stuff.
Now - the mechanics were one of the major issues for me. This game hasn't aged amazingly well, but even then, some things just shouldn't be as they are. Not now and not back then. Comparing to other 3rd-person (fantasy) games like the Soulsborne series (which changed its base combat structure relatively little since the original Demon's Souls) or even the older Assassin's Creed games, the combat just doesn't cut it here. When it works, it's bearable, but half the time it just doesn't. A lot the issues I have might be due to glitches, but they're way too abundant. It's hard to name particular flaws - everything is riddled with issues. It's clunky. It's unresponsive. Weapon switching is awful. Targetting is awful. You'll get stunlocked by either a group of smaller enemies or even by the bosses. My experience with the salamandra mage dude was lying on the ground for 90% of the fight. I didn't die, mind you - I just spent the majority of the fight waiting for Geralt to get back up because the mage was executing perfectly timed stun attacks. This happened with other bosses, too. Regardless, most fights are easy to cheese. Low on health? Just run in circles for a bit. Other mechanics are dated but otherwise most are decent enough. When they work.
Next is quests. Some of them were fairly exciting and had unexpected twists (e.g. the detective thing or the Alina/Celina quest). Others were utterly boring and unnecessarily drawn out. I enjoyed the "think-for-yourself" aspect of some of the quests where you had to gather info and then act in a particular way to achieve particular outcomes - however, some of these "choices" were poorly communicated and required multiple attempts to figure out - i.e. they were convoluted and NOT intuitive. What I mean by this is for example the quest where the order attacks the elves at the village. Dandelion asked me whether I wanted to grab Alvin and run or side with the order - I sided with the order first because I thought that was the only way to save civilians (thinking the other option would literally have me run off). It turns out that apparently there are no civilians to save regardless of your choice even though this was said before. It just never came up again. I reloaded and picked the Alvin option and it had no visible effect other than the order also hating me? There were other situations where the game wasn't clear on how it would interpret my choices. Also, the cutscenes made me laugh way more at the animations than they made me feel whatever emotion they were trying to convey. This probably comes down to technology and budget, but still - I just couldn't take them seriously.
Lots of bugs and exploits, but I found few of them to be game-breaking. The only time a glitch prevented me from moving on is when I was trying to loot an enemy as a cutscene started and the game froze up.

Overall, the game was somewhat enjoyable. Most things in it are what I'd call "just okay" - but these are dragged down by a lot of miscellaneous issues that can be frustrating at times. If the game had a great story, great music, etc, I could look past issues with combat and other mechanics. But as it stands, none of its parts really impressed me and the issues present just made it worse. On a scale, I'd put this at a 5 or 6/10. Here's hoping its sequels do better!

My favourite experience with this game so far has been trying to grab a rusty bike. I accidentally glitched it into a wall trying to rotate it. It then proceeded to fall through the ground, my right hand still attached. I don't know where my right hand is. I can't use it anymore. If you find my right hand, please message me.

For the time being, I'm roleplaying as a one-armed Alyx. It's really immersive and so far there have been no issues.

Every now and then, you get a game that's enjoyable for both sides to play.

The rest of the time, this game is a mixture of horribly balanced mechanics, toxicity and stacked teams. Map objectives are inconsistent.

Too many things in this game require no skill whatsoever and give an insane advantage to people without asking for anything in return. These include horses, shields, generally being on the X side in any 1vX where the only thing required of the X side is to gamble (and perhaps still manage to cftp the riposte).

Chivalry community carried over, so that's that.

Duels might be fine, but the complete lack of autobalance means that a lot of the time the teams will end up being utter disasters.

In conclusion, basically a good game - way better than chivalry - but needs a LOT of balancing.

Also good lord give me 24p servers
