Although i played the solo just a couple of hours, this game has everything it needs to be more than decent game...
From the rpg side, It has the main story, side story, progression, puzzle, and even the AI npc that can be talked and friended to (some people wouldn't liked it, but from all my years of gaming experience until now, i always want to find a "smarter" AI concept and at last found it... interestingly, i found it very likeable)... Oh, and it has good voice acting too although not so great, but that just my opinion...
The fighting mechanics have difficulty setting that friendly to beginner and git gud gamer...
The environment aspect is kinda nice for me but my opinion is too biased as i have "all left slider" graphic settings. See other players who have better PC...
QoL aspect is great, with clear sign of everything a player needed to play a game...
The social aspect is quite niche touch to the game, it can be relatively helpful or even annoying... but for me, it adds some flavour to the game...
But most importantly, it doesn't need 3rd party verification or some crap like that. You get the game, install the game, and then play the game. No pop-up of promotion in the store or events, no annoying ads when playing the games suprisingly. I hope it stays that way...
But too bad, i'm uninstalling it and will not play the game anymore as i don't have great PC, just a decent one because it consume too many hardisk storage and i want to play other games. But if you have a better PC, go ahead play the game... I'll just watch the game on youtube... T_T

Despite all the negative that can be viewed or felt on the game, i'll give this game a positive opinion, because from my perspective and all of these are subjective opinions, this game have a lot of expectation from these aspects:
1. Gameplay:
The gameplay is rather simple but have more complexity from the way it looks. In praetorian combat, the gameplay have all it's element of turn-based strategy and rpg such as considering tactical, class, weapon, armor, and items to use but also some environment element in combat that can determined win/lose of the combat. But too bad the army combat is rather lacking as it just a simple choosing which card to use in order to win the combat. That much i think is really ruined some experience, but i get that we can't expect too much from a game to have it all. So i give the gameplay score 7/10.
2. Story:
I never knew much of the Roman timeline history, but to what's it worth, don't expect any historical accuracy from this game as i think this game have made a clear indicator of it's historical accuracy. But other than that, the story is more than decent from my opinion. One thing for sure, there are no element of modern propaganda or ideology (at least not forced). The story is independent only for the game at those timeline. But to my surprise, i find it interesting that every major action in the gameplay can cause a different line on the story. Most games doesn't have that element anymore in these genre kind of a game and that alone i give the story score 9/10.
3. Immersion:
For immersions, every aspect of this are just pure subjective. For me, the game is not so empty and silent. You can explore every corner of the game that can be explored (surely) whether in world map, the town, or some minor place. I think i haven't explored everything yet, as i saw from the community, there're still many things i didn't know. You can't interact with everything and everyone in this game, although i wish that this game have more interactable. But i guess that is too much to ask from these kind of game.
You can't sell any equipment but you can make equipment from getting materials at traders for limited quantity or break any that you don't want to get materials you need for the equipment you want. This aspect is really a shame for me as it really ruins the immersion of rpg game, but at least there are some degree quality of the equipment you made.
The survival is just a simple mechanics of food, water, morale and events that happened in the gameplay... other than that there is nothing worth mentioning, i think.
There're no infinite scaling and continuous gameplay feature but there are some feature that the DLC provide to the gameplay unrelated to the story, and from my point of view, the DLC is rather worth it but not an essential addition to the immersions.
The character class is not many but enough for the gameplay, the skill choice is there but much of it are not really that impressive although there are some that can bring much to the gameplay from my point of view. I played the game to the end and still didn't reach the level limit, so i don't know if there is a level limit.
So from these aspect, i give the immersion 6/10.
I really enjoyed the kind of game that have party-based rpg, open world, story and immersive gameplay. And the game Expedition: Rome have some element of surprise to it. So i recommend you to play this game but only when it's on discount.

Early Access Review
I'd like to illuminate something from this game that I've played as a proud catholic, a wizard (still proud, kinda) and a furry (ain't proud, but unfortunately tarnished).

1. For anyone wondering, no, it's not lghdtvqr++axeraxis that kind of game and there's not one element or forced behaviour in this game. There's no "so I'm non-binary" type of dialogue, no pushed up because you mispronounce something, and no sin (pride) parade flag or furniture, hell... there ain't even a rainbow. So far...

2. Yes, there's a pronounce. But let me make something clear as this ain't such a big problem, for me at least. Imagine you're in a fantasy world where every population can't be described from a sound or looks of that person. There are cat, dog, fox, bird, squid, shark, all kind of animals person, hell there's even a TV box person and a devil person, so a pronounce ain't a problem but rather a solution. Remember, in our animal kingdom there're some hermaphrodite species, some genderless species, and even some gender of species can't be identified yet because of the boundary of our technology. Also if you're wondering, yes, there's hermaphrodite human out there living among us (sus) and i ain't go any problem but respect them as human being. Even i got annoyed if i got misgender because of my manly soft-voice as my mama taught me to watch my mouth when talking to someone else. Also, the pronounce is only describe what we're as player so not some kind of woke-ism, so no problem at all. So far...

3. This game is really have a huge potential as mix game of subnautica, animal crossing and my time at portia, but it's still really young at 7 months old. So many element needed to make the most of the game. But hey, i played it and having really fun time playing and streaming it at early access. I hope the best out there for the developers to make this game to be better A game rather than those AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA game. My blessing and full support to the developers. So far...

4. Please people, or others... don't judge the book by it's cover. A sugar water is not a sugar just because it taste sweet. It's kind of not a problem to describe the game as furry or childish game from the looks of the game because y'all have your freedom of speech. But don't stamp the game as woke-ism game just because of pronounce. I don't understand, I'm not a native English speaker, but isn't pronounce describe a person in a sentence? Isn't I, you, he, she, him, her, they, them, and it a pronounce that describe there's a person in that sentence? I really don't see any problem. But i do get it from current events... to tell you the truth, my first thought playing the game was described as a woke-sim game, but I'm trying to be open minded and got my self having tens of hours of fun playing the game. So far...

5. If this game add the slightest woke-ism, forced behaviour, or even sin (pride) parade content. Make no mistakes, i will not tolerate it. I'll uninstall the game and never played it ever again. And God's willing, this game won't have anymore blessing and endorsement from me. This maybe the least important things for y'all and developers but it's the most important things for me.

But overall... pretty fun game...
