Early Access Review
For an EA game it is highly polished and functional. It combines automation style gameplay with survival elements and splashes a bit of FPS on top. In my opinion it does an amazing job in blending these different gameplay styles together into a cohesive, and functional, game. Very few bugs encountered so far, (mostly the 3 rail item shift bug... actually, its the ONLY bug I have found so far with 60 hours of gameplay). 10/10 would recommend and would buy again if I could. (Already bought 4 copies for friends)

For me it is easier to play than Elite Dangerous, (less time in hypercruise trying to get to a damn station watching the minutes tick by and no trying to line up to a mail box slot for docking), and combat seems a bit more streamlined. Now the rest of it so far, from my experience, is much more difficult. It's almost like the devs tried to hide options in sub menus. Some menus you can access directly, others you can only get to by clicking through a few other menus and some don't seem to have any bearing on the grouping they are a part of.. just kinda randomly tossed in. I am 100% sure this is due to the fact that I haven't learned the game fully and it's the newbie brain getting the better of me. Having stated that... it does feel like I need to pause the game every hour or so and look up how to do something due to it being non-intuitive and instructions being left out. For Example: I started with the base game and was running the very first series of missions they give you. At one point I had to scan down a data leak from a pirate station in order to upload a worm... nowhere was the UI for going into Scan Mode described to me let alone how to use the new elements on my screen. (I had figured out how to get into Scan Mode from a previous tutorial about Travel Mode and happen to see Scan Mode listed in that drop down). The next stage of the mission is to gather a Lodestone as an offering to one of the pirate faction leaders to pad a sit down. No where does it say that the Lodestone is gained from Mining, nor how/where I should even start looking for it. I check half a dozen trade stations and refineries looking for it only to have to look up yet another tutorial on the where/how to get one. These are "newbie" missions... I don't feel a little context on basic game mechanics would hurt much this early in a play through. But aside from having to keep YouTube running in the background for quick references, I do love the complexity the game has to offer and I can't wait to get my own station going and play around with fleet tactics... just wish it would teach me a little more before tossing me out the airlock.

It has a lot going on for an early access game. Well worth the time.

For what looked like a very simple pixel game... it is actually very complex and deep. There are systems within systems in which you have to use the other characters you create to pool together and work as a team. It is an idle game after all, set them to task and play as any one of them to progress the story and unlock new areas. It does have a cash shop, but you get so many of the important upgrades for inventory space and stack size increases through quests it really isn't necessary. I have to assume it will become very convenient as you reach the end game though.

Takes a bit to get used to the new systems in place, but if you played The Forest you will find your way soon enough. I Like the new enemies and new weapons but building your base can be a bit tricky at first. Highly recommended for fans of the series.

Nostalgia. Just enough customization options to keep things interesting splashed with new breeds of Xenomorphs and some Synthetics tossed. Overall I am pleased with this purchase, but that wouldn't be hard to do considering the last Aliens franchise game we got.
