This game can't even close properly. Leaves a process after "closing" that eats up over 2GB of RAM and can't be closed with any way but a restart of the whole PC. FIlled to the brim with microtransactions too. Waste of time

Early Access Review
I had to refund as it didn't meet my performance standards, everything was quite blurry for some strange reason and it didn't present a good idea or perspective for why I should play this game multiple times.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the chaos and fighting the bug menace, times when you are getting swarmed and get that trooper feeling are amazing. But I don't see myself doing this multiple times as it seems to right now just be spray & pray simulator which is fun but only for a short while. There is only so much fun that you can get at a time from just keeping m1 pressed.

I will most likely come back to the game once they have gone out of early access or updated it to a more complete degree.

Fun game, trash performance. Buy it only if you have money to spare that you won't miss. Otherwise I recommend waiting at the very least for performance patches as on any high end rig, mine included, 30 FPS is average.

- reach level 30 on a character with lame perks granted every few levels
- your main progression system while you level comes from the item shop that is likely to not have any good upgrades available so you just buy whatever has a higher rating
- if you get lucky you can get an item from an "emperors gift" this can also be trash and its also on a weekly limit according to most people
- the crafting system currently in place is near worthless as you spend your resources on "upgrading" something but all that does is grant a few % to/off something or a "blessing" - perk on a weapon. the blessing is random - even if you get a good blessing its % strength can be low. This "upgrade" does not affect the stats of the weapon
- so once you reach level 30 your gear progression is 100% luck based - maybe you'll get a weapon type that you want with high stats or maybe you'll have to settle for either a different weapon type or the type that you want but with bad stats. or maybe you'll get both good stats and a good weapon type but it will come with a horrible weapon perk.
- there are items that can be bought using the currency from the weekly contracts but this also seems random and its questionable whether its worth it (if you manage to complete the contracts anyway - you might be lucky enough to either get the "complete secondary objectives on X mission" contract or collect X scriptures/grims. the first one can be impossible to complete due to how the map rotation works: you hope you get that specific map with secondary objectives on a difficulty you can complete (none of this is guaranteed to happen). Personally i had a contract for this that had a mission I never saw during it and when I rerolled the contract it rerolled into the same one... and even if the stars align and by some miracle you get all of these conditions then you have to pray that the team you get will also attempt to finish the objective because 1/3 scriptures does not count as completing the objective. and even if they do and you extract with 3/3 scriptures then the game can crash, the mission can error out or fail to complete entirely, not progressing to the end screen but just leaving you with a blank black screen. and once thats all behind you the mission is probably gone so enjoy waiting on it appearing again.
- in short, the "endgame" here is really the "endgame" unless you find waiting for the shop to refresh to be an interesting idea. or grinding missions for crafting resources that are barely useful (fun gameplay). alternatively you can try to bank up a large amount of gold because the devs want you to pay with real money for cosmetics so they drip feed you insanely expensive purely cosmetic gear - a helmet can cost up to 165k on "most advanced" option and other armour pieces also cost generally above 30k (going as far as 65k I think) but they drip feed you whats available depending on your level. so you might spend lets say 50k on a chest cosmetic but then you level up and theres a new "better" version that has an extra pauldron for another 65k. whats ridiculous is that with most of these options I can barely tell whats different besides thousands of extra cost. well to be honest, the cheapest option is different from the others in that it looks like it has textures that arent fully loaded.

As much as I love Warhammer games and as much as I wanted to enjoy this I definitely can't recommend this game in the state that its in with what its supposed to be. the combat can be fun but the crashes, glitches, performance issues and various other problems severely worsen the experience. I reached level 30 and I just can't be bothered to run these same 5 or so missions over and over with nothing to aim for. Maybe if this was a single player campaign i would be able to recommend buying the game but for what its actually supposed to be, definitely no. and this is all not even talking about the "full" release from beta with a cashshop but an incomplete "crafting" system. I thought the pre-purchase beta was for testing but the "coming soon" on essential features suggests otherwise...

The only viable strategies late game (whenever enemies with explosions come in) is ranged units with max ranged updates and some micro or anything else and you have to micro so much you'd think its Starcraft. The only challenge in this game is a question of how much micro you want to do and if you have enough space for farms - it feels as if farms are the only thing I build in this game.

As it is right now, I can't recommend it. The game videos on the steam store don't show your army getting wiped by 1 enemy if you dont pay complete attention to it.

I'd feel bad if I didn't leave a positive review. These devs are something else and deserve all the positive reviews they can get.
