Don't bother buying Destiny DLC, because they will eventually just completely remove it from the game and they will make 90% of it's content irrelevant even before that.

Boring job simulator 2020.

Base game mechanics are excellent (gunplay, etc.)

Actual gameplay loop is tedious

Content is essentially rented (you pay for a battlepass-like season and at the end of the season all the content disappears)

They keep implementing more and more systems forcing you to virtually reset progress every 3-4 months without making gearing up for the much shorter lifespans of your gear any easier or less grindy (seasonal mods and mod slots on only certain gear for only certain seasons, retiring weapons and not letting you upgrade them past a certain point so they can release the same exact weapon again later at a higher power level and make you grind for it again, etc.)

Much of the content is locked behind "end game" group activities with no matchmaking, forcing you to either find up to 5 other people to coordinate schedules (and owned dlc/seasons, etc.) so you can play the content, or go to 3rd party matchmaking sites and discords which are often filled people you'd rather not spend your limited free time dealing with.

Story is basically non-existent in the game itself. The Destiny universe has a really interesting and compelling story/setting, and almost none of it is found in-game, and what is found in game is literally found in the form of text files you have to read by looking at every piece of random gear you pick up or through a clunky an unintuitive in-game lore library (which you can only access after you have hunted down the individual pieces of lore in game somewhere, and which are often not available at all because they are locked behind some obnoxious no-life achievement or are literally just removed from the game along with seasonal content).

Game has (had?) a lot of promise, the devs continually keep wasting its potential, making the game an ever more pay to play (any meaningful content) and still have to grind like crazy and pay out the nose for cosmetics and make tons of development decisions which completely disregard the value of the player's time while posting weekly dev letters simultaneously patting themselves on the back for the excellent job they do while complaining about how hard it is to actually provide content for their multi-million dollar franchise game.

TL;DR
I'd steer clear unless you only want to engage with the game very casually for now. You either dedicate your life (and wallet) to the game or you constantly get left behind and miss out on exclusive content, events etc. which never return. The game actively punishes you for trying to take breaks or play other games, while somehow still simultaneously managing to not really reward you for spending even obscene amounts of time in the game.

The only MMO I have actually stuck with.

Great game, can be played as mostly single player pve, hopping into and out of groups for any difficult content as needed.

You can also be in up to 5 player guilds at once, which are easy to join, so you have easy access to people to do content with.

This is a great game, I've played it through multiple times to get the different endings and try different things, enjoyed the hell out of the story and the gameplay. Can be stealth but doesn't force it or pigeonhole you or make you waste hours retrying an entire map if you get spotted once, and features lots of bad guys you feel really justified in dispatching.

This is really fun, basically left 4 dead in a warhammer setting. 4 player coop, a little rough if you have no one to play with, but worth the price.

Ended up deleting this after a total of 2-3 hours of playing.

It's a Diablo type of clicky-killy game, but I found it just awful.

The UI is a mess, cluttered, hard to understand, not even remotely user friendly.

The pay aspect of the game seems overbearing, with tons of spam email to the email you use for your account and 3-4 popups about buying stuff every time you log in and there were 10 or more different types of currency.

There was a lot of loot, but that was overbearing as well. Your inventory is tiny compared to the amount of stuff you pick up and there's no really useful inventory functions I found (maybe there are and I just couldn't find it in the UI), and the differences in most of the stuff are so miniscule it barely seems worth picking most of it up.

There's plenty of better Marvel games and Diablo clones out there, overall I just found this game so frustrating/annoying I couldn't be bothered with it, and I've stuck through some games that a majority of people tend to consider awful =P

Didn't enjoy this at all. Seems very rough, simplistic. Don't like the way the characters move, don't like the "spam single attack/combo to win" way it seems to work.

Might be that I'm just missing out on some hidden depth, but the bit I've played doesn't make me want to play anymore to find if there's anything more to it.

This is actually pretty fun. Meant to just try it out, ended up playing it for 3 hours.

A little bit of grinding early races to get money to upgrade your hydro jet/buy a new hydro jet and learn skills and stuff, but surprisingly well done.

This game is pretty fantatic.

It's mostly a platformer, which normally I hate, with some puzzle aspects.

It has some rough edges (movement is a little weird and the animations could be a little more refined) but the style and atmosphere really make up for any shortcomings and the platforming aspects have not been too overly frustrating.

First game I've finished in a single sitting in a long time (about 4 to 4.5 hours for the game and farming all the achievements).

Highly recommended. Great atmosphere, music, story and voice acting.
