Great game. Can't say I've played anything else like it. When you have a good player count, and good commanders, it's fantastic. Quickly slides downward if neither of those conditions aren't met.

Universe mode is hopelessly broken. Save data becomes corrupted if you bring in more than a handfull of community creations. There is no fix and honestly it's the only mode I play so the game is essentially worthless to me and I'm far past the window for a refund, Steer clear.

*Update 4/30/2020 They went ahead and broke the game again for the second Thursday in a row with another garbage update. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME

This would have been a positive review a week ago, but since then the developers broke the game for over 24 hours and when it was returned to working condition it was missing content and apparently still doesn't work for some people. During this time there has been little to no response from the developers for which they blame the COVID Lockdowns which apparently doesn't prevent them from selling new DLC, just from fixing the existing product or responding to their customers in a timely manner.

So I cannot recommend this product because there's no guarantee that what you'll buy today will be what you'll have next week. They might decide to remove even more content from the game or just break it entirely and keep everyone in the dark about it.

After 30 minutes of frustrating jank I had to return this one. I've never had problems running any other VR title on my rig but this was a constant juttering nightmare, which is a shame because it's a great idea and shows a lot of potential. I might give it another try closer to or after full release, but right now it's a big swing and a miss.

If you enjoyed the crushing sense of finality that came whenever Squad Mates would die in XCom, then you'll love Rimworld!

Because that's going to happen, over and over. One by one, every colonist you care about will die. Not even necessarily heroically in the heat of battle either. A lot of them will just be ripped apart from your own traps, or catch heatstroke because you forgot to switch on the AC in the Med Bay or get murdered in a rampage by one of their fellow colonists who was forced to eat with a table even though you put one right beside the godamn nutrient dispenser. They'll all die and it will always be your fault and you will carry it everywhere you go for eternity.

But you'll keep playing because you'll say to yourself

"I can save them this time! I can build a ship and get them all of this godforsaken rock this time!"

And maybe you will. But you wont be the person who started the game with those high hopes and ambitions by the time you do, oh no. Rimworld doesn't reward such high minded idealism. By the time you escape you'll just be a hardened shell of what you once were. Harvesting prisoners organs and denying refugees simply because you're trying to get a Windmill built and can't be bothered with cleaning up that'd mess left by their oppressors in your "Kill Box". To succeed at Rimworld you must become a monster, and so a monster will be all that's left of you by the end.

The Muffalos are cute 10/10

A great game with a great community around it. If you have a headset, and arms, then you should have this game.

If you're looking for a mind blowing simulation of the wholesale slaughter of Law Enforcement Officers, this is the game for you! Pretty sure this is the best VR game on the market right now, played it for a couple hours then turned around and bought all of the DLC in one big pack. Can't vouch for the DLC yet, but the base game is godamn fantastic.
