Early Access Review
Bought this back in early 2019 (early access, post demo). It's been through a couple major updates since. The game is now 50% complete. At first when it came out after the demo, there wasn't much to it of course. Simple enemies, average puzzles, no item box. Since then, with 0.5.0, they've expanded the game, adding an item box, a new enemy, complex puzzles, balance changes, etc. The first part of the game before the 0.5.0 update was super easy, even on hard. Plenty of health and ammo, a bit of back tracking, enough zombies. The Area that was added on with the 0.5.0 update had quite a difficulty curve, greatly increasing enemy numbers and lowering ammo/health items available. It was difficult enough to restart and drop it down to normal (ran out of ammo, save one bullet). A good challenge over all. No hand holding. A lot of inventory management, but you can drop items and pick them back up where you left them at any time.

There are several throwbacks, nods, and easter eggs to find regarding Resident Evil and Silent Hill. For a fan or indy game, it's good work. I'd like to mention that I've only played this game in OTS mode thus far. It's mechanics are similar to RE2 remake, except the knife is useless. My next playthough, I'll try Fixed Camera mode. It's real fan service that they let you choose which style you want and balanced it based on which mode you choose.

If you like either Resident Evil or Silent Hill survival horror with puzzles and no jump scares, this game is for you. Help the devs out

I did enjoy reliving the game on a Windows 7 machine, but the BFG edition has me with a few complaints...
1: Nearly unlimited ammo. It seems that each ammo pickup has 1.5X's or 2X's the ammo increase that the original Doom 3 had. This made the game too easy, even on Nightmare.
2: There seems to be a few enemies missing from the game. Enemies that would surprise you when you picked up a health kit, armor or ammo in a particular loction. Or when a large fight was to occur with multiple enemies spawning, now much fewer spawn, making it almost too easy.

I've played the crap out of this game and it's expansion pack, plus the original DOOM 1. Now on to play the Lost Missions... I will edit and update once that is completed. Lasting notes: Easier than I remember from 2004-2006, but it's nice to have all of the games in one place. Uses a lot more GPU and CPU power than should be necessary.
