I mainly bought this for multiplayer.

Multiplayer experience is garbage. Game is pretty, when it works it can be fun. All potential is ruined by how terrible the multiplayer is. So many hackers and not really a lot to do besides boring and repetitive errands. Most missions are the same exact thing it can get sooo boring so fast. The main story missions in the multiplayer are bricked; there's a point you get to where you need to place dynamite on a wall to blow it up. That just never happens. The dynamite blows, not the wall tho.

It's a good game that takes the same blackmail formula and applies it to the Austro-italian front.

The biggest shortcoming to Isonzo, in my mind, is that this game especially favors historical authenticity to game fun-ness. It is nearly impossible to win an offensive. I have done it against players maybe... Once? And I have played a decent number of games. It is pretty much: whoever is on defense will win.

This game is less about winning, and more about enjoying the immersion and historical context. While I can appreciate that, it is a sacrifice that definitely makes the game feel very unbalanced and difficult to play...

Overall, I recommend it -- but it is important to know what you're getting into !

This game is cool. Class-based first person shooter set in the European front of WWII. The multiplayer plays a lot like Insurgency, except the weapon range is either a lot lower, or the weapon fires a lot slower. Great cooperative experience, with a lot of the classes having adequate roles that when followed correctly make a pretty dramatic difference. There are some cool mechanics, but there are also a good bit of bugs that need fixing. That being said, I could definitely see this game deserving some sort of revival or sequel. The biggest let-down of this game in my opinion is the lack of different options. It is always the Germans vs. somebody, there are no other fronts -- which makes things a bit depressing. There have been a lot of different attempts at using hammer to bring more theatres to the game, but given its age I don't really see that happening.
It is not as slow as something like squad or ARMA, but is a lot more similar to call of duty. However, the game has pretty realistic fighting mechanics, although some of it is a bit off-base. Overall, I recommend the game, but I really wish it was going somewhere -- in 2021, the game is dying. This sucks to hear for me, because I really do think the game has more potential than what was released. Unfortunately, this IS still an indie game, which is important to remember, and thus it suffers from Indie problems where content rollout is not as smooth and long-standing as AAA titles.
I would say that most fans of the genre, especially WWII fans like myself, will like the game. I happen to love it. As a spiritual successor to Day of Defeat, I can certainly say that in my opinion it outperforms those games in terms of enjoyability.

Many long term fans of the series went into this game thinking " Insurgency with newer graphics, a little more weapon customization, and better AI"
I knew well enough from the fact that they didn't reskin Insurgency for Day Of Infamy that this wasn't going to be the case.
Sandstorm holds many candles to Insurgency Source, and even MIC (if you're a long-term fan), however, it is on a completely different engine, and as well is designed to be played completely different. I can prove this with a few simple things, firstly, recoil, recoil has been dramatically dumbed down, I mean it's not super unrealistic, the guns kick, for sure, just not like they do in the original, as a result, guns aren't placed on single fire as frequently, as the slower shooting rate does nothing but put you at more risk, when you still have plenty of distance on auto. Not to say it's not real, or hardcore like Source, but it's exploring a different area of combat on the battlefield, close range combat. The map design clearly illustrates this. Although a sniper in the right spot can ruin your day, a smoke can ruin their day, and there is no way for a sniper to hold off a breach on point. In addition, the original insurgency had no real big use for mechanics like vaulting or breaching, because most times you are holding corners in a firefight.
For everyone saying the performance issues are their problem, firstly, ensure you're meeting minimum requirements, I know it is pretty basic, and it's fine to play the game with specs too low, but not to give the game a bad review based on it.
New World has been patching the game very frequently, so I imagine your issues will be resolved soon, they are always very responsible with this sort of thing. As for me, I haven't had a single issue with performance, staying over 70 fps at pretty much all times while playing, on my R9 290, but of course other people have different cards, and of course different circumstances.
So how is the game, and is it too big of a stray from the original?
I like the game. And although it doesn't feel like the original game in a lot of ways, (the movement is stiffer, from the new engine,) I think if you go into thinking, yes it's a sequel, but it's not COD, where they do the same thing 4 games in a row, then you'll probably enjoy it too.
Also can someone please play MIC with me? Haha.
Oh and one last thing:
They nerfed suppression, just blurs.

I am only not recommending this because it is a Valve game that I cannot put on my Steam Machine/Ubuntu computer. -.-
Get on it.

Mafia II is probably one of my favorite storylines of all time. It had me very down, very angry, and very happy throughout the game. Everything about it is perfect, except for the no infinite sandbox thing.

Such an average and dry racing sim, nothing special whatsoever. Extremely primitive.

I really enjoyed this game! Basically you destroy other planets and such to grow your mass and conquer the universe. Everything is perfect, except one thing.... The replay value, the whole game takes about an hour to beat, and the best part is the longest part. It doesn't seem like much fun to replay, even with the missions. I feel like multiplayer with black holes removed would be awesome. The tutorial is a little off, and after you win, there is a typo, when it says " You aren't done yet..." Overall, amazing.
