Just get it. Be friendly, be a menace, up to you. This game will let you.

Matchmaking is really good, especially for solos. If you're cool, it seems like you mostly see other cool people. If you suddenly decide to be a filthy rat and kill some sweet, innocent, juicy players, your next few games will be filled with other scum that will try to kill you on sight. Whichever you prefer - don't be weird, use your mic.

10/10 sound design, music, progression, and gameplay loop.

Great devs, no shortage of occasional bugs, and I have only seen full-blown-cheat-client-wall-hackin'-shootin'-bullets-through-walls cheaters twice in 200 hours, (plenty of people abusing bugs or exploits though). As patches keep consistently rolling out, some of these issues are slowly being addressed, but definitely not all of them.

Back in the first few weeks after launch when glitching out of the map was easier, if you died and lost your items to a cheater, (or sometimes, even if a cheater/exploiter was just IN a round that you died in and multiple people reported them) you'd get some mail in your inbox within a day or two, with an automated message stating that they dealt with the cheater, AND they let you claim all of your lost loot back. Even if your backpack is full. This hasn't happened in awhile, but I also haven't seen any cheaters in awhile, and most of the easier exploits are patched out.

Barely scratching the surface, could keep going, but if you read this far you probably should just go buy it now anyways.

Awesome sequel to the first, runs pretty decent in 90% of areas, haven't encountered any crashes or any unplayable performance issues like when it launched. The story is self contained, progression is excellent, lots of little lore drops from the Old Republic era, and even a few nods to the KotOR series scattered throughout the world.

Combat, level design, and visuals are also top notch. Game isn't too difficult (besides the Rancor...). Lots of love went into this. Lots of awesome little details in the animation of BD-1, like him admiring a nice view, or getting visually nervous when you start to sink in quick sand. Plenty of side quests and collectables to keep you distracted too. Finding different clothes is way more exciting now too, because.. NO PONCHO! Customization overall is way better than the first game.

Overall, very enjoyable, can't wait to play the 3rd one (if it runs when it releases)

I wanted this to be great, I don't know how hard it could have been, but immediately, right off the bat, this whole thing just feels super unpolished. I understand, it's an old game, but somehow the elements that they "overhauled" feel even more clunky and less functional than the 2005 version. They did a UI overhaul for the menus, and it's pretty horrendous. When you first launch, there's a menu where you select which of the two games you want to play. This menu looks AMAZING. And then as soon as you launch either game, the jank begins. You can see how the old menus were just repackaged into a new, dumbed down UI. The instant action menu is so dumbed down that is's borderline unusable. The menu backgrounds in general look strange, but especially the instant action menu. It looks like there are two arrows that didn't make it to the final cut that were left baked into the background, and they look very AI upscaled.

Single-player gameplay is pretty much exactly what you'd expect, the classic game but HD. Looks pretty decent. Some sound effects were replaced, and some weren't. In the campaign however, there are very jarring cuts between HD clips from the movies, and the old school 2005 cinematics that were recorded in the original game engine. The old cinematics look awful. I just played the 2005 edition yesterday, and they look identical. If they're charging over $30 for a "remaster" and you're going to insert clips from the HD, cinema quality movies, it seems like it would make sense to re-create the cinematics with their fancy new game that they just made, rather than just running the old 480p clips through an upscaler or whatever crap this is.

The multiplayer during the first hour after launch is pretty much not functional, but that's kind of how every game is nowadays so I'll give them a pass for now. I was only able to see 3 total dedicated servers on PC, all of them for BF2. Couldn't see any servers for BF1, and the one I managed to get into on BF2 was really laggy, probably because of how many people were trying to join. Not sure if it's a region thing, but I'm in US East.

The game is amazing. Many people are very (understandably) upset because they aren't able to play it right now, but the game itself is incredible. It's sad that there are negative reviews for the game, when the issue isn't with the developer, or the gameplay, or any of the mechanics, but with the SERVERS. The devs are doubling down due to how explosively popular this game is (the servers are literally suffering from success) and I am excited to see what they give us.

Game review: 9/10
Server Review: 3/10 (they worked great until 250,000+ people tried to go to war together)
