I honestly am disappointed with the game which would be an understatement on how bad this game is. To give you perspective on how bad the game is, I cringe when people talk about this game.

To start with, the combat. The combat is so bland and generic that it almost feels like a game from the 90s (which may be insulting to games from that era). You cant actually finish a combo because if you do, it knocks the enemy away forcing you to constantly cancel it by dashing (which may be a design change to keep you constantly moving?). You rely almost entirely on specials to do anything during combat besides evading which is not fun. I enjoyed dbz sagas combat way more that the combat from this game.

As for the rpg elements, while they are there, they are done very poorly. To level up any skill and unlock more skills, you essentially have to collect these orbs around the map. There are a few different color orbs which are used for different skills. You have to collect thousands upon thousands of these to level up any skills. That is not a fun mechanic and does not add anything of value to the game besides forcing you to have more playtime on the game. If I remember right, they do have some skills which could be unlocked via challenges. The characters automatically level up during any skips which makes sense but makes you feel like you wasted your time doing any leveling during the game.

Time to talk about the story. The game was marketed as a origin game for goku hence why it was named dbz kakarot. You barely play as goku and when you do, you are really overpowered. The game skips training arcs such as training with king kai. This just really rubs me the wrong way especially since I got the game to play through the story with Goku. During the game, they give you a really generic enemy (basically same enemy with different color palettes) to fight to break up the flying.

The environment looks pretty however this is very little to actually do besides collecting those orbs.

Overall, I cannot see how anyone besides the most hardcore of dbz fans (since they will like anything dbz related) can possible recommend this game.

The game feels kinda clunky and unpolished. Like a bad version of dying light? The combat is uninteresting. It follows the format of just trading blows and hoping you survive. It feels like you are always starving/thirsty/stressed and just don't have enough resources to do anything.
When you die, you drop your stuff and have to grab it within a set time frame (10min?) before it disappears. My bag randomly disappeared after no more than 3 minutes. To make matters worse, if for some reason, you/your friend dc's before you collect your stuff, its gone forever...
