Currywurst (German Curried Sausage)
Ingredients:
For the sausage:

4 Bratwurst or German-style sausages (or any good-quality pork sausage)

Oil for frying

For the curry ketchup sauce:

1 tablespoon oil (vegetable or sunflower)

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

200 ml (about ¾ cup) ketchup

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon curry powder (plus extra for sprinkling)

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

½ teaspoon chili powder or a pinch of cayenne (optional, for heat)

1–2 teaspoons sugar (to taste)

Salt and pepper to taste
