A hotpot of undercooked ideas. I was looking for another harvest moon style farming sim. This is not it. Farming is pretty much optional, since you can just get the money by doing "challenges".
Met 20 Villagers? Here are 50 bucks.
Found 20 Books? 50 Bucks.
NPC relations feel underdeveloped. I dated someone I barely knew, because i figured out she liked apples. SoI gifted 5 apples on 5 consecutive days and BAM, we're on a date.
Cooking, Crafting, everything's a badly explained minigame. Good luck figuring out what exactly you have to do while the timer is already running (there is a help screen for every minigame, but the helpfulness varies wildly).
Sidequests? They give sidequest of the same type the same name. So have fun klicking through 10 "Are we cooking, yet" titled quests to find the one that you can actually do with the recipes and ingredients you have at hand.
I was excited when I got my sword and could enter the area where monsters are roaming, but guess what: I got thrown into another minigame, where you just fight consecutive battles until you opt out or die. Is it fun? No, not at all.
I really can't recommend this game to anyone.

I wouldn't have put 25h into the game if it wasn't fun for a while. But once you unlocked every area and every building, which is doable around the beginning of the third season, the game just becomes boring. You're just saving money for the next big upgrade, while every day feels the same: tend to your crops, tend to your animals, walk through town and talk to everyone to increase your hearts. Rinse and repeat. There's just not enough side content beside the farming to keep you engaged, and your farm is plastered with "Makers" that turn raw materials into usable/sellable goods.
There are quite a few great farming sims out there, this one - unfortunately - isn't one of them.

It was fun for a few hours, but the fishing mechanic is just not interesting enough to keep me going. It's getting very samey after a while...
