I've been playing on mobile since the initial release and yes, the monetization is pretty bad and has only gotten worse over the last year, but it's also not remotely pay-to-win. You're not going to have the newest and shiniest cards in the meta unless you get really lucky with random drops, but you can still play competitively without spending any money.

(I played the game on PS4 and liked it enough to double dip) 2020 Simulator. A beautiful and deeply weird game with story elements that find a unique balance between "cool" and "cringe." It's often described as a walking simulator but that's a bit reductive- yes, the gameplay revolves around traveling between locations, but it's deeper and more detailed than any other game tagged as a walking simulator. There really isn't any other game like Death Stranding, and while it's not going to be for everyone, it's a very chill, meditative experience, punctuated by moments too bizarre to spoil. A perfect game to play while listening to a podcast, watching a stream, or hiding in our bunkers from whatever horror 2020 has waiting around the corner for us.
