I have over 100 hours on HELLDIVERS 1, and it's extremely disheartening to see what its successor turned out to be. Not only is it missing many core aspects of the first game, expands the game play in a counter intuitive manner, and worst of all the devs have mislead the community itself.

Firstly, invasive spyware level anti-cheat is not needed for this kind of game. The reason the devs provided was concerns of game copies being stolen rather than anything game play related. This is a superficial problem that they choose to burden the players with in order to cover their rears.

Secondly, vehicles and equipment that were present in the first game are no longer present in HELLDIVERS 2. Though not all stratagems where explicitly meta or preferred for usage at high levels of game play, the game has been trimmed of the valuable fat that was a versatile loadout composition. All weapons and equipment are not upgradable like they used to be. This lack of unique characteristics and strengths are basically removed, and only somewhat remedied via purchasing alternative weapon variants through the 20 dollar D.L.C.

Lastly, an entire faction is not present in the game. Though the least popular as far as I experienced when playing HELLDIVERS 1, the Illuminates nonetheless added different mechanics and experiences that the other factions lacked.
At a minimum even if the Illuminates where defeated lore wise, another faction (perhaps intergalactic in nature) should've replaced them.

Overall there's some serious problems the devs need to fix. I believe this game isn't completely forgone and can be fixed, but it starts with devs admitting fault and getting right to work. IF and only IF this game gets the attention it needs and a real apology is given to the community, would I consider buying this game again. For now stick to HELLDIVERS 1.

Bugs.... Must, Kill Them All!!!

This game was very fun and easy to get into! Got two other friends to play and we had a great time. I hope to see more content in the game in the near future! Some other thoughts:

It would be cool to have a map editor. There's a limited amount of maps and it can take a lot of time for devs to decide what maps to add. I think it was add to the longevity of playing the game if friends could collaborate and make fun community maps for others to try aswell!

Some more guns and melee weapons aswell. The current weapons feel good to use, hope to see more of them!

All in all good job on the game and hope to see it grow!
