I miss this wonderful game and the western devs who ruined it and the franchise ought to rot in hell.

It's a short, alright story with generic every PS exclusive ever super low quality gameplay.

It looks nice, and has niche mechanics but the gun play is extremely bad, even for the time it came out in. Basically a more tense version of shooting from Uncharted.

If you can find it for $20 thats all the value the game ever had. If you cant, just watch the youtube. It's a 5 hour story with maybe 100 enemies in the entirety of the game, which if you dont play on less than moderate difficulty will be nothing more than just a 5 hour sneaking simulator due to lack of resources. 0 replayability unless you plan on doing an easy run where you actually have resources, but since everything is in the same spots, you already know exactly whats coming.

Ran fine on a 3090ti at 4k ultra everything around 100fps.

Game was kinda okay.

Story is 8/10 for storytelling, but 4/10 for sustenance.
Gameplay was alright, but lacked satisfying boss fights. Dagan was underwhelming even on Grand Master. Same with final boss. Vader was the only decent fight.

Some of the lightsaber stances feel pretty bad and underwhelming compared to others. Dual stance was almost completely useless.

The way they locked advancement powers was also pretty lame. Cal just conveniently forgets he can use the force to lift things as well as push them, yeah that makes sense, and sucks considering they already have an in universe mechanic and could have just said his connection to the force was weakened following the failure of Fallen Order.

Overall 6/10. Looks good, kept me interested, but left me wishing it was better in a lot of ways. Fallen Order is better in my opinion.

I've been an armored core fan from the beginning and this feels like a very poor attempt to shoehorn darksouls into Armored Core. It's wildly unbalanced and what they had in concept is terrible in practice. Prepare to look up youtube videos of how to break the game and google the most broken combinations of gear, because the bosses will just kill you and there is nothing you can do.

What you mean its not fair if every single one of the bosses attacks is 18x the max health you can even have? What, you mean literally all boss hits shouldnt be stunlock? What you mean the boss shouldnt fly off your screen at angles you cant possibly track and then fire 6000 damage stunlock aoes at you in tandem?

If you were hoping for more Verdict Day, sorry. It's just terribly balanced Robot Darksouls now. :( It's like trying to play dark souls where all the bosses are dark souls bosses, but you're not allowed to look at them, dodging doesnt move you far enough to avoid attacks, there are no dodge i frames, and the bosses will literally just spam unavoidable attacks touhou style while waiting for you to try and do anything, to which their counter programming will immediately kick in and they'll target you with a stunlock attack the moment after you dodge or attack with perfect timing.

Revising this review. Yes I am salty. No anything I said above isnt really false. It feels like it lost the essense of armored core in wherein the enemies that are supposed to be on par with you are wildly above you, and the boss types can be overwhelming unbalanced with the intended playstyle. There is some joy to the game. I'm still playing it, and I'm about to get into the PVP now that I'm a bit deeper. It's just a pain that you cant really just use what you want, you have to use what works. Beating the bosses doesnt feel like skill, it feels like a slog for the "well maybe i'll get him this time because the tracking wont turn off at the last second and i melee air."

The ACs in the arena are ridiculous about abusing their gear advantage, Cinder Carla is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare, oh, what do you mean my weapons have a reload time? That doesnt seem right. *Fires bazooka three times in a row and then fires missiles twice* The game is shameless about overwhelming you with autonomous tracking fire and its not at all possible to dodge it all, and the game will never miss an opportunity to punish you during a stunlock, even if it means the game has to instantly reload all their weapons and somehow magically let them fire multiple times. It would be cool if the movement was better, or their seemed to be any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pacing at all to the bosses, but they literally just dont adhere to the same rules as you and you're supposed to somehow dodge their unrestricted shots with your very restricted and very ineffective movement. If an enemy uses a mass missile attack, kiss 1/3 your health goodbye because the most you can do is hope to barely avoid getting stunlocked, while it launches 2 more mass missile attacks, then triple taps you with a bazooka that does 4000 damage. Dont worry. One of these times, that boss will make two mistakes and you'll scrape by the skin of your teeth, and the frustration will fade as they trounce you through a bunch of stuff that stands no chance. Man I miss verdict day.

Hinterland releasing a paid DLC before evening finishing the main game which has been in the works for nearly 10 years now leaves kinda a sour taste in my mouth. We know you have the bones for the game. So is the story just literally not written? Did you run out of money?

Getting a little miffed with the devs.

literally over a decade. 12 years, 2 paid dlc's and the episodic story isnt finished and they're talking about TLD2. dont give this company a penny more

Gaijin would do better to separate jets into a different category then prop planes. If you're not willing to give up your life, or your life's savings, you'll never play with the jets. The warships is pretty aight. The tanks is better than WoT to me, but the impossible scaling is the same, you'll never play with future tanks if you're not willing to shill out thousands of hours or hundreds of dollars.
