SuperGiant Games have seriously outdone themselves. Transistor is an amazing game. Visually, it's absolutely stunning. Gorgeous and complex in some places, and stark and stylized in others, you end up just looking around, taking your time to soak in all the visual details. Coupled with the absolutely enchanting soundtrack, it just sets the tone of the game perfectly. The combat is pretty smart and highly customizable as well, although the real-time aspect of it is a bit clunkier than, for example Bastion's, but that's not the main focus in Transistor. The story is kinda told to you through the Transistor sword; more as a companion than a narrator this time. You can also choose your level of involvement in the story as well, which is always a nice feature. You can play through in a straight line, or take your time and find all the little details of the city of Cloudbank and its citizens.

Overall, a very VERY hearty recommendation for Transistor. Well done, SuperGiant.

I saw this app on a flash sale during the Summer Sale 2013 and impulse-bought it, ironically. Since I started using it, I've been managing my money a lot better. Christmas presents don't break my bank, contracts and membership fees are sorted out at the beginning of the month, everything just runs smoothly. I don't have to stress or worry about my money anymore, because I've assigned how much gets used for what and I gained a lot of perspective on where my money goes. Awesome app, would definitely recommend.

This game is a lot of fun. Hard as all hell, but not in an unfair way. The characters are unlocked though a lot of effort and it has that progression element of 'the better you play, the more cool stuff you unlock" that I liked from games like Binding of Isaac. The sound track is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and the setting is sci-fi instead of fantasy, which is a nice breath of fresh air. The art style is 8bit and the animations are surprisingly nice and fluid, but the choice to make your character so small is a bit hit-and-miss for me. It adds a sense of scale and awe to the relative size of everything else in the game (the world, the monsters, etc), but your character can easily become the smallest and hardest-to-find entity in a mob of things that are trying to murder you. Minor gripe aside, it's hella fun but it will test you. Be ready.
