Very enthusiastic recommendation for this game. Super unique visuals, varied and very satisfying combat system, tons of weapons, skills, and equipment to try... Only real call out is it's brutally hard, even on the easiest difficulty you might experience insta-death late in the run. But if that's your vibe, don't sleep on this one!

This one is a slow burn, but a good one. It starts pretty frustrating, when you don't have a good idea of what to be afraid of. Early losses are punctuated by literal dismemberment and disfiguration. Slowly you will begin to parse the hazards of the world differently, and your characters will inevitability begin to press farther into the more dangerous corners and depths of the world. The insane complexity of the history of the world begins to unfold, and your toolkit of survival techniques expands. Skills and attributes which originally seemed mediocre are suddenly key pieces of your game plan. Soon you get a lucky start with a build you are consistent with, and your early successes snowball until you feel brash enough to push into that next biome you haven't dared set foot in yet...

Then, an inter-dimensional goat person teleports in, instantly traps you in an force field, and cooks you alive with a psychokinetic flamestorm.
