Rockstar adding BattlEye anticheat in an 11 year old game is crazy. You can't play GTA Online in Linux because of the anticheat.

You could play GTA Online with no issues on LInux before the anticheat was introduced. Rockstar have BattlEye's settings turned off for Linux so you can't join Online without getting kicked 4 seconds after.

Rockstar truly are a bunch of clowns, and have gone on record, to essentially say "Sorry, (not-sorry) but BattlEye support for Linux is not happening. Also, if you have a problem with that, direct those concerns to Valve." BTW, NOT EVEN Valve's fault that any of this happened. Why is it Valve's responsibility for BattlEye to work with GTA Online... on Linux... Hello? It's Rockstar's responsibility to switch BattlEye on for GTA Online through Linux. All it takes is one email, as a Valve employee leaked how simple the procedure is. Rockstar is avoiding taking criticism from their choices, by telling the consumers to complain about the issues to A DIFFERENT SOFTWARE COMPANY. In other words; push the blame to someone else, walk away, call it a day. There's no logical explanation that makes this acceptable.

First it was Apex Legends, now GTA Online. Yet another game from a AAA game company, like all other AAA game companies, deserving of no attention from me. Times are shifting. Windows 11 is hot garbage, Linux is now a contender for PC gaming. Inevitably, if it weren't for Microsoft's shareholders, then Microsoft would never admit Windows 11 has a low user-base. Yet here we are.

Better do something about it, because when that 5% user-base on Linux goes to 7%, then 10%, then more over the next couple of years; no more is there a valid excuse to not support the platform.
