ABSOLUTE MUST PLAY!!

If only the Demo was even longer! Movement feels smooth and combat feels both solid and rewarding. It's a nice mix between Devil May Cry combos and Dark Souls dodge/parry with it's own flare added in. The bosses you face in the demo are also super interesting and creative in their fights.

I'm not one to pre-order games, but I wish I could pre-order Alabaster Dawn right now lol

A very fun party game. Simple concept, easy to play, and potentially lots of hours of fun thanks to the workshop support the Devs built into the game. My only request is if it's possible to add .GIF format support to custom decks.

Put simply, this game should be the gold standard for 3D platforming controls.

The platforming is super simple to learn, and extremely satisfying to perfect with there being so much variety and choices to make every time you hit the jump button. I honestly wish more games adopt what Pseudoregalia perfects here.

That being said, it's very clear that the dev focused all of their resources on perfecting the platforming as their isn't too much else in the game. The map/world is difficult to navigate with there being little variety in environment design or memorable landmarks (and if you played the game before the map update, like me, you most likely would need a walkthrough just to find all the key items). The map design isn't terrible by any means, as the one thing the map does really well is compliment the platforming.

The combat is very simple much to my disappointment, as your only attack is a 3-hit combo to pretty much all enemies. Which is a real shame as I would have love to see the same level of care put into the combat system as to the platforming, or at the very least some more moves could double as platforming and combat moves (such as the wall kick could also be a means for a "High attack", the slide also be a "Low attack", or even the Ground Pound could deal damage as I don't believe it does). There's even a move where you can throw your weapon, which I honestly have no clue what use-case that has.

I have to reiterate though, DESPITE these short-comings, Pseudoragalia is still Absolutely Worth Playing through just for the platforming ALONE! That's how awesome it is! Even when I was lost, I still found myself enjoying zooming around with the slide jump, experimenting with the wall kicks and backflips, and soaring around trying to discover new combos of platforming moves. I really look forward to what Rittzler makes next and already plan to try their new game as soon as it releases!
