Fantastic game. It is much harder than the original Hollow Knight, bordering on cruelty in its choices at times, but the satisfaction of beating its challenges is amazing. It is a fantastic sequel that builds upon the original formula and story with a deep passion that shows in the countless interactions and details throughout the game.

Just finished the first chapter. I have so many questions and now I need to play it again to try and answer them. I doubt I will.

Gear sets and accessories with unique bonuses. Colony management with meaningful automation. Exploration that feels natural. Combat that feels responsive and rewards good positioning and timing.

A lot of the mixed reviews come from the first few days of the games official launch. I have been watching this game grow throughout its development in beta and can confidently say it has been steadily improving. What you have here is a beautiful entry point into ARPGs crafted in a way that feels like a love letter to the fans of the genre. This game manages to strike a middle ground of complexity and accessibility to make a game that is here to stay. Long live Last Epoch.
